3 on the weekend horrible
Lloyd free for in the back
Nicholson crucified against Gehrig twice
Norman on white

They have introduced that rule into the local leagues as well.
Has had no affect on my game whatsoever.
I was born a scragging defender and I'll die a scragging defender.

Depends which rule you mean, the WRFL decided not to use the arm chopping rule

Yeah, it seems that even when reviewing video footage which clearly shows Karl Norman's jumper being scragged, they are blind.

And speaking of one of those Gehrig frees (on the boundary line), he actually looked embarrassed to take it.

And it seems everyone except this so called umpires coach and his staff (and apologists) can see the on-field problems with rule interpretations and week by week (or sometimes even intra round) apparent changes of emphasis and interpretations which have been occurring since he became umpiring coach.

The EFL do.

I think the reason for going on the offecse was that accoring to Humphrey Pagan had a swipe at the umps after the game. He was kind of telling Denis to have a look at what our players did wrong before blaming the umpires.

I haven't seen Denis's comments though - did he really bag the umpires? If so it is very uncharactersitic. The usual cliche he comes up with is something about only worrying about the things he can control, not the things he can't."

FWIW I thought the free against Deluca was there, but the one against Norman was pretty shite.

Denis said something along the lines of it's a shame the game wasn't decided purely by the players.

Quote:
"It was just a real battle and it's just disappointing. It's the players who should determine what happens. It probably wasn't the case," Pagan said after the match.

On white line fever - DHS says Pagan called him today, to say that DHS got it wrong, that his comments were directed to player error causing the umpire to award a free kick, not erroneous free kicks. DHS says fair enough.

Two incidents were shown: the deluca free - no question a free; and Norman's free which DHS says becuase it was over the shoulder the free was there. Harvey and Shaw disagreed with Norman, but not Deluca.

At the risk of being monstered by fellow TCers,i reckon the 3 instances pointed out by DHS were complete stuffups by our players,no question.

DHS was a shit umpire....and nothing's changed now. Who's he to start laying blame for our loss?

The thing I couldn't believe was on teh coverage when you can clearly see Norman's jumper being held our wonderful commentators agreed it was clearly a free kick against Norman. While clearly he has his arm over the opponant's shoulder, at worst its a 50-50 decision...not clearly a free against Karl.

On WLF it had Humphrey Smith talking about the Norman incident, someone pointed out the fact his jumper was held and HS brushed it off "ah that happens all the time in games and it's let go". What a great attitude

Thankfully I nodded off while he was on WLF.

He didn't think it was one of those things that happens all the time in games when he was crucifying us against the Bulldogs in a game at OO in the late 90's. Two ridiculos free's in the last 10mins that handed the Dog's the game

So does bloody incidental contact in marking contests yet they've jumped on that this year.
Geischen is clearly not the right man for the job.

It's rarely let go. If you get caught holding a jumper it's almost always a free.

mmm... when we are down we want everything our way, weather, player injuries and umpiring calls because we really know we need everything to happen for us as our skills and player error prevent us from winning consistently. Yes the umpires can be a problem but most of the time the errors are skill errors from the players. Dennis has consistently said that.
Some of you white maggot haters need to go umpire a game of footy in an urban league to see how hard it can be! No matter what you do they all bloody hate you!
Go Blues!
