Post subject: | CARLTON FRIENDLY BAR BEING SET UP IN ADELAIDE |
Hello fellow Carlton members and supporters. I am setting up a Tapas+Wine bar in Adelaide. All people who show their Carlton membership will receive a 20% discount when they show staff their membership cards. I know that most of you live east/north of the border, however if you are in Adelaide for a Blues game this year drop in. The bar will be situated at 36 King William Road, Goodwood. (In the heartland of Unley/Sturt= known as the double blues) Replays of Blues games will also be shown at the venue. For those who dont drink wine...we have beer (amongst other beverages) I hope to see you there. We will be open in late May...so dont be shy. Regards, BLUEBLOOD95 |

That's a great idea! We should turn this into a Sticky and anybody out there who owns their own business & wants to help their club can add their details. I run my own Video Production Business doing Weddings/Corporate productions and i'd be more than happy to do a deal that would see me give money to the club. Like, i dunno, for example................ Any Carlton Member who books a Wedding Video through me i will donate $100 to the club? Something like that? I dunno.................. |

great idea. THe one in Perth is now the Odin Tavern (which is a crap venue and got the times wrong for the game on Saturday so there were not too many people there). Having said that it's always good to get together with like minded souls!!! |

There is already one at Tailem Bend .. well, it's not a tapas bar and I don't think they do wine, but a Carlton Supporter has decked out the bar in their take-away shop, directly opposite the railway station. Called Dalt's, their hamburgers aren't that bad either (well, back in October 2006 they weren't!) Where was this tapas bar when we were there on NYE'06, too?! We ended up having dinner at a Pizza place on Hindley Street down near North and West Terrace .. I would have preferred tapas, quite honestly, and to be helping the club! ryan2000 wrote: Any Carlton Member who books a Wedding Video through me i will donate $100 to the club? I think this is a great initiative and think it is an opportunity to grow the Carlton brand whilst assisting each other with our individual businesses. I run an IT Recruitment and Consulting company specializing in Consumer Finance, including Credit Cards working for some of the major banks and Finance Institutions in Aust. I would be more than prepared to agree on some arrangement where business generated from Talking Carlton contacts results in a payment that is directed to the club, or to an initiative that the Talking Carlton members agree on. If anyone is interested in discussing further please let me know. |

yeah same - i run ( well my wife more so ) a graphic design/printing business - so business cards/flyers/annual reports/stationery/wedding invites etc - all that kind of stuff - we'd be happy to offset some money towards the club or something. we're based in perth but could always ship stuff across the country ![]() |

Sounds good! Is it going to be near the model train place, or is it on the other side near the BWS? If I ever get a free night (young family), I'll check it out. |

I think that Carlton have "survived" the introduction of the Eagles and Dockers better than most clubs. In my son's class at school there are 3 Carlton families which gives us half a chance to maintain the faith through these years of WCE and Freo success (days like this with Bad Boy Benny help also ![]() I remember a few years ago, well maybe 7 or 8 years, hearing the song loud and clear from the always packed city end of Subi oval when the Blue Boys were sticking it up WCE. |

Great stuff blueblood. When in beautiful Adelaide we will make it a must do thing. Great initiative. There must be Carlton sanctuaries throughout Australia and the World...only problem would be is that Scum & Filth supporters would come looking for good fun intelligent people to associate with. |

This is similar to an idea I have already put to the club. What I called it was the Carlton Business Network. Basically a type of Carlton yellow pages where people with businesses could offer discounts to Carlton members. Would be easy to set up online, business owners who are Carlton members could have free listings and other businesses could pay for the privilege. Just one of many things that could be done online to benefit the club. Watch this space, hopefully they will come to fruition soon. ![]() |

A lot of Adelaidians have an affinity for the blues because of: Sticks, Braddles, Naley, Motley and unfortunaltely Campo GRRRR!. |
