OK, this guy is, and never will be, a superstar, but he is one of the most honest performers in the team.

When the goals were there to be kicked against Port Adelaide he shot straight under pressure on two occasions.

He was also one of the highest possession winners on the night. He's a genuine quiet achiever.

And who can forget that mark at the start of the last quarter against Essendon* which set the tone.

Hats off to Wiggo.

There should always be a spot on the ground for Wigs. And, when we draft new kids, Denis should point at Wiggins and say "you see that guy? play like him."

I would still like to see Wiggo AND Teague together at the coalface, but HE'S JUST SO VERSATILE!!!

for a while there I thought Wiggins was probably more of a forward than a defender... even while he was playing in defence. He used to have a problem with overcommitting to win the ball and running under the flight (and hence being turned by his man). Its because, as a forward, he wants to win every contest. But that you can iron out with experience.

200 game player, he will be, El Wigganso.

Also that mark against Essendon*.... a GEM. He not only parried a forward thrust, but singlehandedly showed Solomon why he has no soul.

ANY PLAYER who is so willing to die for the CFC that he will dive in and wreck his own shoulder (last season) deserves to be straight in every week, I reckon.

Wiggo is a very underrated player IMO. Very tough and always puts in 100%.

Easily the best game I have seen him play on the weekend. The important thing here is that I believe Wiggo has the right mindset to take this form into the next game against Freo and do as well if not better it!!

Goes to show what a bit of grit can do...I almost prefer those types of players than make the most of what they have, which can make the more skilled players look fragile at times.

Wiggo's first half was great - tough at the ball, won a few key clearances. Wiggo and Norman were the solid ones as the senior players seemed to be missing early int he first. Wiggo's third was quiet - was he taking a rest? - before coming back and kicking a key goal in the last.

that being said bluebernz, this post is mighty ridiculous. A good game, a hard and fair game, and in the best players for mine, but we need a season of this.

And Tyrants - Hamill with leadership? Hamill is a fantastic kick... THERE, I said it. Hamill is a much better player.

I think he may have been co-captain - they prefer two heads down there for eveything!

Seriously, full credit to the guys who don't have the natural talent, but get there through sheer hard work and perseverence, without all the usual plaudits.

Thanks for the feedback molsey. I totally agree with your comments in orange. This thread's a tad premature. Let's see Wiggo string together some good games before we start singing his praises. History is littered with players that have played some good games wihtout ever making it.

But he is a superstar! Just to make it on the mainland is success to a Tasmanian. To those of you still on the island - SWIM i tells ya, SWIM!!!!

I was impressed with his game on the weekend. Hope he keeps it up.

I've never been entirely convinced but he's the sort of bloke that deserves to make it.

It was good that he was given a bit of license to run around on the weekend instead of having to really concentrate on watching an opponent. He's played over 50 games now though and maybe it's time that he cemented a spot in the side and started performing consistently for us. More of the same please!
