great stuff bluebaggers!

Thought Stevens was bloody fantastic, as was T-Bird. Setanta did well but Brownie, shit what hands. JR on Power = great game from the kid.

Gees I felt like we never really clicked and we still won!!!!

A couple of fantastic cameos from Jordan Russell tonight.

We can play tempo football. That is, we can now get a big run on and score waves of goals, rather than just dripping them through as in previous years.

We have fair dinkum courage, both at the contest, and mentally. While the deficit was never too great tonight, we were able to fight back and set up a comfortable margin.

Marc Murphy, you know, I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this bloke will be a gee u en ... GUN!!!

:-D

The most impressive thing was, like last week, that when the opposition got a run on we didn't let the game blow out. There were times when we couldn't get the ball and were getting smashed in the midfield but I think after half time they mixed up the starting 4 and it got us moving again

O'hAilpin's effort on Brown was by far the biggest positive.

Russell - looks like he belongs out there now, great game tonight and all pre-season

Murphy for being Murphy

Fisher - stood tall tonight and kicked with great accuracy, will cause headaches for opposition teams this year.

Great team effort, was really difficult to pick the M.Tuck winner, but well deserved by Stevens.

Bring on the Tigers :-D

I think the best part is the fact that in my opinion we didn't really play all that well for most of the game. I thought that the skills were actually quite poor overall, we didn't pinpoint enough targets and often we just kicked long and hoped for the best which worked well enough tonight but we will be punished by better sides. We did play a very good third quarter though where we got on a real roll but other than that I think it was quite a rusty sort of performance, Brisbane controlled the game for the majority of the game, certainly in the first half, yet we still won, which is a good sign. And yes I know Brisbane had a few players out/lacking match practice but that was still a reasonable side which at times linked up superbly and we did well to beat them.

Pressure on the opposition is the big difference. Hopefully this can be replicated in the season proper. There was just far less easy ball for the opposition.

And the new-look backline just seems to have clicked and clicked well.

Oh, and I think Camel got it wrong. Murph IS a gun - no "gunna be" about it!

In our darkest of dark years we have still jagged 2 pre season cups- a pretty good effort.

We converted our shots on goal, it was good seeing all the hard work rewarded.

Another few positives:

Dick was wearing a suit.

Also:

The boys did credit to the club and themselves with the way they treated the young kiddies who gave them their medals. Compare that with - was it the Eagles? - who snubbed & were just plain rude to many of the kids giving out their medals last time around.

My positives were the following:

- Russell continues to improve and did well against Power.
- Fisher's kicking has improved significantly and will cause headaches for opposing teams this year.
- Setanata would have learned a lot playing on Brown.

Carrazo's delivery into the forward line was impressive.

I think Fisher has turned the corner with his kicking and he will be a star playing on the opposition's third or fourth defender.

Russell will be a gun!

He is a very good kick and his career will follow a similar line of improvement to Walker.

We have Bower, Edwards, Jackson, Flint, Grigg, Hampson, Austin, Benjamin, Anderson, Blackwell, Aisake and Jacobs sitting in the stands. 8)

Big positive for me:

Fev kicked 4 and we won by 25 points.

While Fev's going to be hugely important to us for some time to come, it's nice to have a win where we're not totally reliant on the No.25.

Big positive for me throughout the NAB cup series was that we kept the opposition scores down to low totals. Last few years the opposition would have kick over 100 points easily. Its a combination of better players in the back 6 with Waite and Setanta and also the increased pressure and better players in the midfield.
