you know what... I reckon the best thing out of Sat night was that we mixed it with Port with most of out best players below their game...

Fev and Houlihan were excellent but the other marquee players played serviceable games and played second fiddle to the younger guys

Whitnall, Kouta, Lappin and Stevens all did their part but we didn;t need to rely on them.

Johnson was fantastic. Please don't drop this kid again. He knows how to get the ball. In fact I think he doesn't know how not to get it.

Carazzo. terrific...

Longmuir great debut. Like him up forward better than Eddie. He has more strings to his bow.

Wiggins- bets game for the club? he was fantastic, gave drive, kicked goals.. great stuff

Bowyer really shut Burgoyne down didn't he?

Walker was fantastic at the start of the match too

Was super impresssed with Wiggo and Bowyer, great stuff mate.

as for longmuir over betts, i think i have em both in and davies out if you had to decide, but hopefully all three can play together.

i'm guessing betts was injured on saturday night?

Well, Eddie was on early and did not touch the ball (has no touch for the whole game actually). Pagan said in the press conference that Eddie was placed on the bench because he could not get the footy..... So not an imjury problem. I think he is just inconsistent - normal for vey young and inexperienced player. Will get better with experience.

Wasn't inconsistent - he just couldn't get the ball. THe game was fast, and in the 30 mins or so he had on the ground, Port defence was on top. He went the tackles, he was trying, but their defence hadn't cracked yet.

When I say inconsistent I mean from game to game. And yes that was what I said - he could not get the ball and that is why he came off after the first qtr or so. That does not mean he was not trying. I think he had a short stint early in the third before being benched for the rest of the game.

All part of the learning curve for young Eddie. Every minute of every game (good or bad) is adding to the knowledge base. We know that he can play the game, all he needs is the various experiences to draw on, then he will tear the game apart.
