I was recently thinking about the role of "supporter apparel" and how much it seems to vary between Carlton supporters when at a game or even out in public.
Everyone has their own personal 'style' and attached to that are also certain memories of what we - as supporters - used to wear, or wore to the football. This leads me into my next point...
Is there a certain age where you find that you need to "ditch" the Carlton guernsey/playing strip? Any items that you have had that have been passed down through generations? Memories of your first guernsey/beanie/scarf given to you?
I have included a few questions below... feel free to answer them as it would be interesting to find out what we all wear to the football and any other memories associated with Carlton "fashion"
1. What do you wear to the football?
Fubu Jacket and Carlton guernsey, jeans!
2. How many Carlton guernsey's have you owned?
Three in total, #8 (Troy Bond), #43 (Anthony Koutoufides), #12 (Matthew Lappin)
3. Oldest item of Carlton apparel that you own?
Would have to be my scarf, have had it since birth (29 years)
4. Next item that you are going to purchase?
The Carlton alternative playing strip
That'll do for now... can't think of any other relevant questions, would be interested to hear though on the 'age limit' for wearing a Carlton guernsey, I was reading in the AFL Record last year that it should be ditched after your teens, but I still wear mine (14 years going strong!)
