" CARLTON'S promise to bring Carlton people back to the club will be honoured in Round 1 when legendary ruckman John Nicholls' career will be celebrated. "

Big Tony suggests Big Nick to Big Dick.

I really like the way the club's going right now

It's not how big it's what you do with it.

Unfortunately in the on-line page the photo is cut down.

If anyone can paste the newspaper version it would be great.

All hail The Beast.

We desperately need people who see branding our club as more than a clause in their contract - it has to also be a personal crusade. Big, big difference.

Straight from the Eddie "passion beats all" manual.

Go the Beast....

Must have killed the HS to add this bit
Quote:
The Nicholls idea stemmed from long-time Carlton fan and soon-to-be-Blues employee Tony De Bolfo.

Also HS employee for about 16 years

Brilliant idea....a combination of honouring history and creating an innovative idea for future games.....this could become as traditional as the "banner run through".

BTW...the Beats is also responsible for most of the AFL Italian team of the Century work....not just the Blues work HS!

I don't know how much Tony is getting paid,

but with ideas like this, he will have paid his way in about a half a season. Seriously sensational idea, and just the sort of positive news that we as supporters have been looking for the last few years. Well done to all involved!

don't be disapointed if Nick doesn't actually go on the ground, I really hope Jezza gets involved at some stage though.

Great idea. We need all the champions back at Carlton, not these people from other less successful clubs.

Great initiative!
Our young blokes should feel 10 feet tall if Big Nick leads them out onto the field.
It's fantastic to see the great Carlton family coming together.

Given that Jezza works for Sir Richard, I would be shocked if he didn't become involved.

Most of the Hun reporters are still mates with The Beast - only management has an issue with him.

Great work from the Beast...

We are getting great publicity now, and we'll undoubtedly get more leading into the game, and all the follow-ups...

Your turn next Jezza...

Come home... everybody misses you :(

I am sure that "Nick" won't be too popular with the older Tiger supporters who still remember Nevillel Crowe being rubbed out for retaliating and missing the 1967 GF!
