This one's for all of you who play 'Pagan's Bulltish Bingo'

http://www.theage.com.au/news/Sport/Pagan-upbeat-about-Carltons-prospects/2007/03/05/1172943344906.html

There are some absolute beauties in there! I like this new one:

"But one thing that we can say with a real surety is there's a skeleton there and it's just going to be subtle changes from here on in as our young blokes mature and develop."

There's a skeleton in there... and a chair as well...

I much prefer reading these articles than the crap we have had to put up with over the summer. :P

It is good to read Pagan talking positive about the current team, rather than the future side.

Too true , but there will be those that will be able to put a negative spin on it.

Great to hear Denis is positive about the list. He's not one to usually pump up tyres undeservedly, so it seems everyone's positivity isn't unfounded.

He was on SEN this morning and was saying idealy we would love a giant ruckman and another goalsneak on our list...

I thought the goalsneak highlighted that we have plenty of tall timber up forward, that will create plenty of crumbs. Kinda says Lance will stay forward.

The name Leroy Jetta springs to mind when he was available at 17.

Having said this Hampson looks the goods and has great potential.

Besides Krutzer is available to us this year

Yes, a smallish forward that knows where the goals are............looks like we should have gone after Jetta or Houli after all.

I seem to recall that we picked up a capable small forward a couple of seasons back.....name of Eddie.....
Oh yeah - I remember....Eddie Betts.
Could be alright, I reckon.

GOD DAMN HAMPSON AND GRIGG! :garthp:

How many games will Houli play this year when Davey, Lovett, Jetta and Monfries are likely to be played ahead of him?

A new coach might have different thoughts about our list so I really don't care about this interview. We still need another giant ruckman who is a young gun and who we recruited in the past is irrelevent to filling that need.

Why apply a negative spin to a positive story about a team that is totally different to the one that won the WOK?

Denis is correct to suggest that many of the present players will be in Carltons 17th premiership side,

However Denis will not be the senior coach in that year.

He is the older man who watches from the stands.

It is a new young coach in his first year who reaps the rewards of Denis's work.

While Denis is unhappy he is not in charge of the team that he has helped to build, he is nevertheless, quietly satisfied of his achievements.

For all his failings, we will do well to remember that he was the coach that guided us through the dark years that followed the crash of 2002.

Denis will have guided our club back from an impossibly bad situation -
after accepting what was the worst job in AFL football - Coaching the Blues.

He deserves great credit for doing this.

Yes, he was given the worst assignment in football but he survived where lesser coaches would not have made it.

In the beginning of the year of Carltons footballing triumph, no one believes that we will do anything special in that fateful season -

but they are destined to be proved wrong.

eh... I altered what I thought was appropriate... the rest of it stays as I don't see the problem with poking a bit of fun at small fry Milne... :P

I don't think Camel would have an issue with Milne being called something nasty, unless it's because he didn't come up with it himself.
