It is generally accepted that we have a large fan base in WA, but was pleasantly surprised with the numbers following us in Tasmania yesterday (it seemed 50/50 to me). Can someone from Tassie give us a insight? |

Well I just hope they start organizing a function tomorrow cause it will be oversubscribed by heaps. I suppose I should put my hand up to arrange a pre-game gathering for forumites somewhere close to the ground and arrive in numbers. I'll do a ring around to suss out the best watering hole.

There are heaps and heaps of Blues fans down here in Tassie. As for the game, we easily outnumbered the hawks supporters 2-1. The roar everytime kouta came on was so deafening. When Murphy got that ball and went for the run and kicked it inot the fifty in the first quarter, the crowd were amazing. Just rode the Blues every moves last night 
Afterwards, i think there were some 5000 fans lining up for autographs when the players came out. Biggest cheers for Fev and Kouta. I'm glad Mr. Pratt came down, to experience just how much support the blues have down here. The crowd really were great, it was like being back at PP for a home ground. Hawks were booed when they came on. Just sensational. I hope the club capitalize on last night-s turn out - realise there are heaps of fans down here, and do something abou tgetting more players down here for meet'n'greets, school clinics and general membership stuff. If Stephen M is reading this, please make sure the club look into it. I also know so many people went up from Hobart to watch the game last night - these are not fickle supporters, however something needs to be done about membership in Tasmania because the club could have thousands more on their tally! |

The crowd was more like 2.5 to 1 in our favour. We have a huge following in Tassie, and it's one area that should be explored further in terms of memberships and presence. A good idea would be to schedule Carl V Haw there every year, early in the year as a H&A game.

I don't mind us playing some of these games interstate. The support and enthusiasm came through loud and clear from Tassie on the tv. I bet we sold some memberships and merchandise. Us in Melb know we can see the Blues almost anytime we want, but a one off interstate game becomes an event for the locals. Its a pity next weeks game isn't in Canberra, as we play in Brisbane during the regular season. We know from this forum that we have a Canberra following, and from having poked my head into Manuka whilst up there on holidays recently, I can tell you there is nothing wrong with that ground. |

They really should schedule something (praccie match, meet& greet whatever) in Tassie each year. Do that and sort out a decent interstate membership, something better than $60+ for a bumper sticker and a pin, would get a lot more interested in contributing to the cause. |

We've got some hidden members in Sydney too.. remember going to Sydney for a family holiday when I was about 12. Talking to a Sydney sider family friend... he asked me who I barracked for in the VFL... "Carlton" I said my chest sticking out with pride. "Carlton!!!", he said with contempt and disgust, "they're shit!!!.............I go for the Blues!!!"

You can pay an extra $39 on top of your blue membership and you get to watch 5 carlton home games in melbourne for free. If you only go to 1 game per year it almost pays for itself. It is called a interstate silver membership i think. Check out the website |

Made the 2 hour trek from Hobart on Saturday night with my dad and 8 yr old son to watch the mightly BVlues play in Launecston. The most amazing part was the announcer welcoming the "Tassie Hawks" to Aurora Stadium and the crowd just went nuts booing amazingly loud. Then when the Blues entered there was a deafening roar heard throughout the ground. It was easily 2.5 to 1 or even 3 to 1 in our favour. The supporter base here in Tassie for the Blues is awesome. I think the crowd was even more pumped because it is the first time in about 8-10 years that Carlton has played in Tassie. The excitement and buzz after the siren sounded was electric. Richard Pratt was on the ground singing loudly and teh coaching panel were all smiles after the game looking into the stands and seeing all the Blues supporters standing, clapping and singing loudly. Thanks Blues, the memory from the game was awesome and my little boy had a great time for his first Carlton game, booing the "Tassie Hawks" and jumping up and down with his Goal sign everythime we scored. For a membership to register in the official count, it must include entry to at least 5 games. |

Thought the crowd was great (on TV), we (Carlton supporters) really made a mockery of Hawthorns supposed efforts to take over Tassie. I was amazed at the amount of support. |
