I was most impressed with the tackling efforts of our younger players against the hawks. Gibbsy, Murph & Simmo were standouts. Some of our more senior players could take a leaf out of their book.

The tackling effort is great, but we are still doing those "holding onto the opponent's hip and allowing him do an effective handball" tackling.

I still think that Waite goes in too fast for the tackle. Players seem to side step him too often - i wish someone would point that out to him!!

Gibb's tackling looks like a real feature of his game and perhaps that is the difference of having played against men previously compared to those who come in from the TAC.

Mind you Murphy's tackling is great too and I might get shot down for this but it may be Libba's influence coming through....

How many years has he been there for it to finally come through? :P

Betts should be taking tackling training during the week. He is so ferocious in the forward line. Like Dunstall has come back in a more compact package.

Great tackling again last night, but isn't it funny how - watching the match on FTA - the only "decent" tackling that was mentioned by the commentators was Shane Crawfords!

In particular love the gang tackle on *who was it - Bateman?* - where Betts latched on and Waite I think swooped in and crunched both of them to the ground...

hawthorn play shit footy.....they will be caught for holding the ball more than any other team with constant handballs....a few tackles from Gibbs and Murph were awesome....everytime i saw them mucking around with it i was hoping one of our guys would go and and just smash em and kick it long and show them how to play football...
