These players are good Carlton players in my opinion, get a lot of the ball, some have real good weeks and then are rather quiet but they do silly mistakes,go for the wrong options, kick the ball out of bounce when there is no pressure or miss easy set goals at time.

I'm not sure if all will eradicate the problems in the next 2 years,i think Houilhan you just have to accept it, he will get a lot of the ball and be a big part of us winning games with his effort that may cost us a goal or 2 sometimes with poor judgement, turn over.

I understand all of them having a few poor skills as they were not round 1 picks.

I would think Walker skills would be awesome being a number 1 pick,i can see him tearing up games soon, but he tends to make some bad decisions or spray the ball in some games maybe as he is older and the defense is more secured he will be at his best.

I thought Houlihan was much harder at the contest than I've ever seen him. His skills when he goes in hard cost us less, IMO than when he squibs.

Walker seems to be working well in defence, but his kicking seems awkward at best.

Waite is providing us some nice rebound out of HB, and we don't always have to rely on Lappin solely for that, which is nice. His skill errors cost us less there than they have when he's made errors in the HF line.

Scotland was good, and very poised, for mine. He didn't make that many mistakes which hurt us badly.

Walker was caught on his left foot a few times but he still managed to get ok kicks away - but yes some kicks did miss the mark. But it still early days in the season and the pace of the game was up even on last week.

Having said that i love the way he plays. His heart is with this club and he was in my best 5 for sure.

Carrazzo is my new favourite player.

Agree and thats why we are fav for the spoon. When it counts you need to hit a target by foot. you can probably add Carlos and T-bird to the list, its almost the entire defence. It's a problem that many auto-selections have this knock on their game. I also worry that some of our later recruits may have this skill as a lesser attribute.

Walker had a couple of clangers last night but when he was able to get some space and steady up his kicking was actually quite good.

Tex's main problem is kicking under pressure - this will be rectified once he settles in a bit.

As for us being a bit shabby with our footskills, I didn't think Hawthorn were much better except the usual suspects in Crawford, Birchall and Mitchell. The others were iffy at best.

Carlos'first option always seems the handball and mostly he does well with it. He is growing in confidence by the minute.

Listened to an interesting interview a few weeks ago on SEN with Aaron Sandilands.

When he was asked what they had been focusing on over summer at Freo, he said they had spent alot of time working on their 'skills under fatigue'.

Shows just how far we have to go...we are still trying to get basic skills right under no pressure, the top teams are working on getting skills right when they are physically stuffed.

As for Walker, I'm sure his disposal in his first year was excellent...what happened??
