Right.

Let;s het beyond this result as good/bad as it was (personally i got nothing but praise for the boys after tonights effort!)

WE CAN BEAT FREO!

Chambers and T-Lo Will be up for it!
As will Campo due to a sudden rush of guilt!!!!!!!
Thornton is a possibility!
C'Mon blues! Get excited!
Walker is about to DESTROY a game with his bare hands!
Another note:- Fevola kicked 4goals 3 tonight..........................with each three behinds hitting the post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What does everybody think has to be done to beat Freo! (Who i believe are the best team in the leauge - on paper!)

P.S. Good caoching by Pagan tonight too!

I think we have to step up the physical aspect and we can win that game.

Thornton couldn't be possible ready, dont rush him so he get injured again.

I reckon they should leave for Perth 2 days before the game to have a chance, give the players their week off work in Melbourne and just get the players training up there for a couple of days and watch the behaviour of some of the young players not cutting lose at clubs and pubs, they there to win the game, then they can get pissed after the game when they win before the ride back to Melbourne

Spot on Synbad, that's exactly what I thought when I read the thread title.

Carlton need to be HARD and TOUGH and PHYSICAL against Fremantle. Carlton need to play man on man football and just bash and crash their way to a winning score.

After almost upsetting the reigning premiers, I have a belief Carlton *could* sneak one against Freo next week. It will be tough no doubts, but I hope to see some of the Freo game today to get an idea of whether they're dropping off.

Fremantle dont really have a tall foward line,so i dont think you should rush Thornton back yet. In terms of for and against points,we are ranked 2nd in scoring and 16th in defending. I can't wait untill we have thornton, fish and livo back in.

Play tough, accountable footy, have Carrazzo blanket that worm Medhurst and we're in with a good show.

Maybe bring Bannister in for the Pavlich job.

Hopefully Eddie will be keen to put on a show for his home state too.

Norman played a great game too last night.
What he did show was that he is a flanker and not a KPP at this stage.
We desperately need to get Norman and Waite to become body players for the future of this footy club.

Eddie is more Victorian than he is Western Australian.. His home state is South Australia.

I have it on good authority that Thornton will be playing this week....Would be perfect for the job on Pavlich...Was watching the Bulldogs game and just how much space there is inside the 50 at Subi, i reckon Fev will have a day out...

BTW...I agree with the person that said Walker will tear the game apart this week, looked very good last night... :D :D

Its amazing though...A tie and were in 8th but a loss would have seen us in 15th...Very even comp..

I reckon Carrazzo will get Farmer, and a taller type on Medhurst who's more of a 'marking-small'. Ideally we'd put Norman on Medhurst, but we'll probably need him on one of their talls. Perhaps Sporn?

BTW, good game for Sporn last night. Nice to see him recapture some more of his form. Last night he not only blanketed effectively (which he usually does), but he also 'created' for us as well. I was glad to see Sporn get that free kick for goal in the last quarter. Lappin is a terrific field kick, but his goal kicking (especially from set shots) can be a little erratic.

Sporn has a very good record against Freo so it would be good to see him get a run on the ball

I think that last night's effort might have taken a fair bit out of us. We will be tired and it will be tough to produce a similar performance. It's a big ground at Subi and it's easy to be exposed over there. However, we're kicking good scores at the moment and Freo will be coming off a six-day break. Their forward line is a different proposition to what we've faced this year, with Farmer and Medhurst not exactly big, imposing types, which might negate the absence of Livo and Thornton somewhat.

T Bird is on target to play.
Freo are a rabble and there will be a heap of pressure. .. i dont think they cope with pressure to well over there.
They will have a few injuries too...

Im marking it in for a win already.

Sporn surprised me with his courage last night. Not that I ever doubted it, just hadn't noticed it.

Teague did NOT surprise me with his courage...its just expected

But who do we put on JLo? Do we try Archie down back again? His body work is not great as a defender. Livo had him last year and did well at PP. Now with the new interpretation regarding chopping, if JLo is on fire and delivery is precise to him, he might rip us apart in combination with Pavlich and another tall.

As others have said tough, accountable four quarters is the way to beat them. If enough physical pressure is applied they revert back to their old style chip and turn-over game.
