On SEN this morning, the guys ran a phone in for people to confess any sporting secret they had.

Tim Watson confessed his..... that he believes that Silvagni DID touch the ball when Michael Long kicked the turning goal in the 1993 GF. He was near the action and was fairly certain that Silvagni did touch it.

I was behind the same goals that day and he definately did... was a fair deflection after the touch.

I was sitting in Aisle 20 level 3 at Docklands the day Simon Wiggins touched Peter Ricardi's shot on goal in 2002.

There is no doubt in my mind that Simon Wiggins touched it.

yeah i was on the half-forward flank 2nd level right next to Ricardi..... the worse thing about that goal is that it always looked like missing from my view:(

and i remember the ball turn weird after it went over Wiggins. He said it was was touched without looking at the shot for goal.... i think it was Houlihan and a couple more around him who were doing the same

My confession is I broke the seat in front of me that day - after the Ricardi's kick was awarded a goal.

I used to work with the brother of the goal umpire that gave the Long 'goal' - both him and his brother are fanatical Bummer fans - true story.

I reminded him about that goal after the prelim final in 99'.

I remember going to footy in 1994 against Collingwood when i was like 7 years old and someone in the cheer squad broke a chair after we lost... i was @#$%&! shocked thats when i knew footy was serious stuff, lol.

And speaking of broken chairs, saw a few broken in the same stand at the end of the 99 Prelim - I was sitting near a group of Bummer fans who were whinging before the match about what a hassle it was going to be queuing up for GF tickets....we saved them the trouble

never enough stories of the 99 prelim and Essendon* supporters coping it, lol. I love the broadcast of th game at the end after the siren has gone they flash to the crowd and you see some young carlton supporter giving it to some Essendon* supporters.... always makes me smile watching that.

the only thing i could say that i broke while listening to carlton is a radio and a mug...... my voice cops alot of damage as well, lol.

I reckon I went close to breaking a chair at the G one day, umpire paid a free kick against Williams when he finally retaliated and belted Craig Turley in the guts.

Didn't break the chair, but the little old lady in her Melbourne colours a couple of rows in front of me moved bays.

Second biggest dummy spit I've performed at the football. Only surpassed by the free kick against SOS for a push in the back and 50m penalty for abusing the umpire against Geelong and Gary Ablett in 96. The umpire admitted the next day on Sportsworld it was an incorrect decision.

There's so much I could say...

I used to believe that Collingwood supporters were the least intelligent supporters in the world. That changed when in the mid-1990s Carlton played Essendon* at the G. It was immediately (within a week or two, IIRC) of the Greg Williams and Lewis incident in Western Australia against the Eagles that Lewis accused Diesel of being racist and the biting.

Anyways, comes time for the Essendon* / Carlton game. All freaking game long the Essendon* fans were yelling abuse at Diesel.... Their only insult of him "You F'n coconut..." I was young and naive at the time and had no clue what they were insinuating so I perked up and asked "He's a bloody Aboriginal bastard, black on the outside, white in the middle" ... Now this was during the time when a good 3-6 players on Essendon* were Aboriginal (Wanganeen, Long, etc, etc.) so not only were they calling Diesel something he was accused of being the opposite of (a racist against aboriginals) but they were slamming a few of their star players.

Oh well, Essendon* fans. What can you expect?

I have tried to delete the Dixon goal after the bell at the G from several years ago but have to admit sometimes I struggle.

My mate couldn't watch and had moved a few steps down at the back of the stand so that he couldn't see. He just kept watching my face as I was turning between him and the kick. He knew the result was all bad by the look I gave him but still managed to yell at me "NO, DON'T DO IT!!!"

Too late. My beloved Nikon binoculars purchased on a trip to Singapore lay in pieces in the bottom of the carry bag I had just smashed into the brick wall behind the seating. It was a beyond salvage mess - but nowhere near as dramatically mutilated as my thermos.

Did Hawthorn have a coaching issue that day? Did Bowyer break an arm or leg? Was it Jordan Doering who gave the kick away on the HFF?

I used to live a dropkick away from Windy Hill (they're all dropkicks at Windy hill *boom boom*). Driving to the 99PF, you could see the row of fold up chairs outside the ground in line for the Ticketmaster.

After the game, driving back, the chairs were broken or thrown on the road. Gave me great pleasure to yell GO Blues as I drove past.
