Yesterday I bought the 2007 AFL Season Preview Guide and was pleasantly surprised to read how much some of our emerging youngsters have grown over the last 12 months.

Pre Season listed weights
Player ; 2006 ; 2007 ; increase
Luke Blackwell 70kg 79kg 9kg
Paul Bower 87kg 90kg 3kg
Jake Edwards 82kg 88kg 6kg
Brad Fisher 82kg 86kg 4kg
Craig Flint 83kg 86kg 3kg
Adam Hartlett 88kg 94kg 6kg
Josh Kennedy 93kg 99kg 6kg
Anthony Raso 75kg 79kg 4kg
Jordan Russell 77kg 85kg 8kg
Andrew Walker 85kg 92kg 7kg
Aisake O'Hailpin 86kg 100kg 14kg!!!!
Mark Murphy 75kg 80kg 5kg

A well as being physically stronger, the above players will be fitter and obviously more experienced than last year and I think we can expect significant improvement from them. Also remember that Kennedy, Hartlett and Raso had restricted preseasons last year and Aisake O'Hailpin is fast learning the game.

Even though we are probably destined for the bottom four again this year, 2008 and beyond promises to be an exciting time for us IMO.
