Apologies TC members for the time between posts!

I thought it would be good to let you all know where things are at down at the Club and as to how we are progressing with ideas etc:

1. Obviously, Richard Pratt's appointment as President has made a tremendous difference to the "feel" around the place. Its fair to say that there has been no confidence about the Club for quite some time.

2. The Club has been thread bare and Richard coming back to Carlton has resulted in our resources beginning to improve. Apart from the basics, what the Club really needs now is human resources. We simply don't have enough staff to cope with the demand in terms of signing sponsors etc.

3. A number of directors, including me, have been on the road with John Morris approachng potential sponsors and helping in re-signing existing sponsors. We have had amazing early success and are extremely confident of getting close, if not past our initial target of $1m before the start of the season in late March. I recall one poster saying we would be lucky to get $300,000. We are well past that number now!!

4. The playing group is full of confidence. The injection of new coaching staff in Paul Ford , Ratts , Crosisca and Braddles has been extremely successful. Anyone who saw the two intra club hit outs would have noticed the improvement of many of our youngsters.

5. Membership is going well but we do need help. I am delighted that at least 12 TCers have volunteered their services. I haven't forgotten you guys. I am trying hard to co-ordinate a meeting with the critical membership group to put in place a program for us th use your services to re-sign lapsed members.

6. I have retained all of the ideas sent to me on private messages or through e-mails. Not many have appeared on this thread as yet but if they do, they will be responded to, I can assure you. We have so much on that it is mind boggling thinking about how we will get through everything.

Anyway, I am delighted that our fortunes appear to be turning the corner.

Cheers

Stephen M

Thanks for the update Stephen.
It's fantastic to hear that we are starting to all row in the one direction, this is the key to success at what ever level of business (or sport) you are at.

And credit to you for keeping us up to date with this sort of info after the politics has died off. Thanks again mate!

Thanks for the update Stephen. We all hope you smash the $1M benchmark you have set yourselves.

You no doubt relate well with the members and I am glad you are on our side. 8)

Stephen, brilliant stuff mate! Really great to hear this sort of stuff - like you mentioned confidence has been lacking in previous years.

I've never looked forward to a season more...

Now, stop typing on a bloody internet forum and do some real work for the club

Thanks for the update, and for your work for the club.

It is comforting to know that we are finally being proactive about our situation.

It is also great to have a board member updating us.

Good stuff, Stephen.

It is a two way street with sponsorship. Companies that sponsor our team should get something in return - so let us know what we can do for the sponsors.

I am already a loyal Dan Murphy shopper, an Optus client and drink Carlton Draught over other beers...

Maybe these sponsors can have a pop up section on carltonfc.com.au every so often so the punters can learn a bit about the companies giving support to Carlton.

Thanks Stephen,

Well done on your efforts to date with fund raising and hopefully the new found enthusiasm filters through to onfield success.

So it was Stephen who was the sneaky leaker?!?!?!

Thanks for the updates, Stephen.

I think it's absolutely amazing that a board member has taken some time out of his, what I can only imagine, hectic schedule to update a forum site with some really good information.

Wouldn't have got that before.

I just want to echo the sentiments already expressed, Stephen.

Thanks for your efforts. More so, thanks for staying in touch with TC.
The upsurge in confidence around this place since the election has been amazing.

First we get our pride back.
After that comes arrogance.

Kenoath!
