He has already had an effect.

I had to laugh when hearing his interview.

The reporters were scared, laughing little girl giggles at his humour.

Know one in the media is safe when a guy with this much "influence" takes over.

Carlton went from joke administration to one with real credence and future overnight.

I love it! :-D

A very unusual bright spark amongst the flower over there!

They are shitting themselves, and with good reason.

The balance is about to be restored.

I hope they've all enjoyed their "ten in a row" dvd box set - 'cos that's as good as it's gunna get for those turds.

The fear has returned.

I AM LOVING THIS.

Run scared, you pack of pathetic Carlton wannabes. We are on the march and some scores are about to be settled.

Our list isnt quite as bad as those guys like to think.

Young and inexperienced maybe, but with a lot more upside than they're bargaining for.

I remember someone saying that within 3 years all the foreign legion would be gone.

I think only Teague and Bannister are left.

It doesn't take a great stretch of the imagination to have us winning 8+ games IMO. Maybe it's just my surge of post-Pratt optimism :-D

I recall an analysis between bottom placed Carlton and at that time, top placed West Coast.

I think that it was done here, maybe in 2005.

Anyway, the upshot of it all was that thre was very little between the top and bottom sides, weight height, age etc - very similar.

However there was one difference.

This was the number of top 20 draft picks on the respective lists.

At that time WCE had maybe 10.

Well at a rough guess right now, and a look at the player list, Carlton has about 7 or maybe 8, wheras a couple of drafts ago we might have had maybe 3 or even less.

We are one good draft away from being where we wanna be!
We have lost allot ground over the past 5 years and have fallen away in a big way in every single aspect of the footy club. Our next 5 years will be one of our most important ever in the clubs history...The next 5 years will make us or break us!
Don’t worry about the on field just yet! We have these sons of bytches squealing like pigs when we Carltonians march to that inevitable 17 Premiership!

Gees I'm enjoying reading opposition fan forums this morning.

THEY ARE SHITTING THEMSELVES

The fear is back - I can't wait 'til this new confidence filters to the playing group.

LOOK OUT

JeffDunne must of had a seriously bad experience with Carlton as a child.

Some people on those other forums are either very young without any knowledge of Pratt or plain stupid.

How horrible those sites are - what is it about Richmond that makes we want to puke? Maybe it stems back to Balme king hitting Geoff Southby all those years ago......

While i love all the hysteria thats is goin on at the moment, maybe it would be prudent of us to put our fingers over our lips. SHHHHHH. We have a long way to go, but the ball is rolling.

I tend to agree but we've had precious little to celebrate over the last six years so lets have some fun, because reality is not so far away.

Who exactly are "shitting themselves", deano?

The full backs of the comp when they have to line up on Pratt?
Oppostion supporters wondering how we'll all combat Pratt's centre clearnaces?

I understand the optimism and genuinely believe he has the capability to change some things off-field, but I also acknowledge that Collins and Smorgon were seen in a similar light. Especially Smorgon.

Good on Carlton fans for lapping up the nostalgia that one of the old boys from the strong Elliot regime is back, but I'd be a tad worried that you're still caught in a nostalgic timewarp that still remains irrelevant in the machinations of a modern club.

I'll reserve my admittedly biased "anti" view until I see what this new board's plan actually is. I hope that he somehow has a plan to alleviate the financial mess, even if it does mean a personal contribution. It all seems too ad hoc to me, as if it was a case of "let's target the next richest supporter on the list and see if he wants to be President". I mean, did anyone actually vote for this bloke? Do you know what his strategy is? Is he abreast of what a modern footy club requires to get the extra 15% every season out of off-field and on-field performance?

And I do have an interest for it is my contributions to membership, TV susbscriptions and what not that are keeping you blokes around.

What was Eddie's plan when he walked into your club when it was a basket case back in the late 90s.

He had no plan other than saying we will go in see audit the club "line by line" and fix things.

He said we will ask the hard questions and said if the reason for doing something was "thats the way we have always done it Collingwood" we will find a way of doing it better.

Dont kid yourself ADP and sit there with superior smugness.

Richard Pratt will do the same thing - and before he even starts doing that he already has the ear of every major corporate boardroom in Australia.
