Good news for Blues, absolute bullshit from the tribunal though! 256 games then 3 weeks for a bitch slap, that wouldnt have even hurt Mandy!

Some hard questions are going to be asked about this new system before the season's out. I'm expecting the shit to really hit the fan by season's end.

He's pleading guilty BUT asking for leniancy which is different to taking three weeks (which would be reduced to two)...if he hadn't been charged for wrestling and melee in 2003, (considered priors) it would've been reduced to one...so they are going to pleasd for leniency for the last appearances saying they weren't reportable (serious) offences and he's not been charged in 15 years so give him one.
The tribunal could say..."stiff you contested and so it's three weeks" or they could say "well you're right, we shouldn't consider wrestling/melee as priors so have one"
(Don't know iof they'll be keen to set a precedent so early in the new system's life)

Understand??
Good...now can you explain it to me?? :?

Agree.

Both Fevola and Grant could have easily copped a week each.

On the day, Fevola's looked like a fair bump, but he contacted Green on the chin with his elbow, so could have been deemed reckless.

Grant's looked like a clear cut charge into the guy's back.

Seems like the tribunal is still like playing Tattslotto.

It's the same as the NRL system. An umpire can make a report, and even if the charge has no basis the player could still face being rubbed out for much longer than the crime deserves.

Put it this way - this bitch-slap could have cost 4+ weeks if he'd been in trouble in the past. If it wasn't for the Sainter carrying on like a pork-chop and taking a dive, i doubt a free-kick would have even been awarded.

They make bad acting a reportable offence. That was a disgrace. Kekovic's temples would be pulsating.

3 weeks is an absolute disgrace.

Jeez - Sedat will be pissed off. Can't quite believe that given his record.

Not pissed off, just sighing in resignation at yet another situation where common sense and the AFL are mutually exclusive. A bloke who has never been suspended in 250+ games should not get anything more than 1 week. But no matter how wrong the verdict, we should be able to rely on someone coming in and replacing Smith with aplomb, otherwise we are not going to improve this year.

I think he has a fair chance of getting off the charge, but it's pretty risky to take the tribunal head-on while it is trying assert its influence in its infancy. Would not be surprised if the 3 weeks remains.

For some good news Sedat, you probably now this already but I met a membership manager from the Bulldogs iwho told me their membership last week is up 2000+ on any previous year. The feedback they're getting is a strong "Eade influence"

3 weeks, thats harsh. With his record he should only been given a 1 match ban.

Post subject:  Rohan Smith and Campo should know better

Both stupid mistakes by two class players who should know better than to try things like that on a football field cameras are everywhere

So hopefully they wont both be suckered in again Campo responded to a elbow to the head from welsh where he went down

i didnt see the incident that sparked Smith off but i do agree he is normally a fair player

So may the best team win

I reckon the new tribunal system looks to be working fine.

You've got the automatic formula which you can opt to accept or if you reckon that doesn't make much sense you can go to the tribunal where some ex-players will use common sense.

Picket deserved his 6 weeks for almost breaking someone's back and Smith deserved 1 for his slap. Campo deserved his one week holiday too for his love tap.
