thats how its felt. For the club, the players and for us. Rabbits in the headlights. Startled, lost buggers without a hope in hell just standing in the spotlkight letting flower roll in in their shitty utes to blast the crap out of us. And we took it. It was hard but rabbits don;t have any defence. In the light there is nowhere to run, no where to hide. The rabbit's only hope is in numbers (ah my fellow bluebaggers how good does it seem, how warm the sun, how invigorating their air?) or is the shooters missing. We had the AFl taking pot shots like beer bellied buffoons lolling about in the back of a truck. We had the bozos of the media squirting their ink guns like little kids pissing up against an old wall. We had the opposition supporters - the scums and filth I could take, hell I've given them plenty over the years but the ST Kidders (skidders for short) or the poos and so on, they shit me! Yes we fell, and we fell hard and fast but at least we'd been to the top of the @#$%&! summit! And least we'd planeted the bluebagger flag 16 @#$%&! times and set the tend in numerous ways. They are just fooder. Football fodder. But we held our tongues. took their barbs and waited. And waited. and these rabbits had a secret. They were not rabbits at all. Merely a Cat a big navy blue cat that had fallen on hard times. But a cat nevertheless. And the cat waited. At the edge of the light it waited, sharpening its claws, enduring the potshots of pricks from Portland to Puckapunyal (?), growing new teeth, letting the fur grow thick and deep blue again. Waiting. Today the wait is over. Today the catlike strut is back. Sur ether eis work to do - there is always work to do. Sure the team is young and will still lose more than it wins this year but mark my @#$%&! words The Big Navy Blue Cat is back and suddenly all those buffoons in their shitty colours, all those media scribes and their scribbles, and best, those AFL doctors with their doctorates of doom, now they are quivering, Now they are th rabbits. Be proud my firends, my blueblood brethren. be proud! Strut and gloat and smile like the pot of gold has filled your hearts. The Bluebagger Cat is back And its @#$%&! hungry! Go Blues! |
