And an oppoent that doesn't kick 15.1 or some such similar total as has happened the past couple of games.

In total our opponents have kicked 37 goals 12 in the past 2 weeks - 75% accuracy.

I'm giving us a big chance to win this, but I just want a good showing really. Probably going to take the 23.5 point line

there is much difference in ability between bowyer and clarke to be honest and not sure I would necessarily prefer bowyer to clarke in all circumstances in any case.

Perhaps we should wait and see how they play before we bag them?

It has been around 9 months since they last played for the Navies - let's give them another go and see if things have changed.

I like Bowyer for a match up on Stuart Dew. Dew has killed us in the past through loose checking.

i just want bowyer to stand on the edge of the center square at every center bounce, and run like buggery into a port player at every center bounce. then find his man.

if he is close enought o do the same for a ball up around the ground then do the same, unless he's playing on a forward and the bal up is close to goal.

need to clean a few blokes up with good, hard and fair hip n shoulders i reckon.

make them earn the bloddy thing and set the tone for the game.

Hmmm may happen.
I think, as BlueMark said in another thread, Glen may be thrown in the middle to add more grunt if Kouta is sent down back.

Interestingly enough Bowyer did his ankle last year against the Power at AAMI.

We are the 3rd highest scoring team so far this year (combined 303 pts, behind Melbourne 354 and Doggies 307). This is with bare minimum contribution from our 2 key forwards and kicking for goal like dogs.

Port are the lowest scoring team this year by a mile with 184.

Now this is certainly some reflection of quality of opposition played, and not forgetting we also have the most points against us of any team.

However, I think the game plan actually is going to be a shootout, with the focus on quick clearances and relying on Fev, Whits and Deluca doing enough to get us a winning score.

The big danger is going to be turnovers. Too many turnovers will kill us.

I too like what you're suggesting ThegezMan. Bowyer isn't going to add to either our speed or skill, so he really needs to add significantly to our toughness at the ball and the opposition, if he wants to stay in the side.

wait!!! waaaaaaait!!!

aren't we being a little hasty here gents...?

But seriously, I would be interested to see Bowyer play ahead of Clarke purely based on his Round 1 VFL performance. If he can play half as good as that, he's a better option than Clarke.

How do all feel about where Longmuir will line up? Foward flank? The pine?

Forward pocket for sure.
With all due respect to Davo, Troy is a much better option in the other pocket.
