Sorry, just doing a little "60 minutes" style cut and paste editing to suit my point of view.

oooh can I be one of the crackpots that writes to the mailbox at the end?

Dear 60 minutes,

Hamill is a filthy bastard, and I wouldn't give him the steam off my shit.

Is that the same Hamill who left a club for money and then went on to screw another club on not one, but TWO contracts?

I think that qualifies for one of Synbad's so called 'lack of leadership' qualities.

Taking a huge 5 year contract that will more than likely force out one or two of his young team-mates shows a lot of leadership.

Is it also the same Hamill who has been reported several times while in a leadership position for St Kilda.

I suppose he was belting and tripping blokes to show leadership qualities.

Yeah, great leader!

Can we get him back, that would be great.

He is a real inspiration.

If Aaron Hamill offered his services to Pagan tomorrow, he would be snapped up immediately.
Not only would he walk into our side, he'd be the best leader we'd have on the park.
Pagan would kill for someone like Hamill.

And before we get too self righteous about players screwing clubs, perhaps we should visit our own list and look how things are done.

Our only physical presence in the forward line comes from a 180cm forward pocket who cant kick straight.
Hamill offers many things we are screaming out for.

Sure he walked on us and sure he's overpaid but lets not allow our contempt for him to cloud our judgement.
He would improve our side considerably.

Synbad is 101 percent correct.Cant bring myself to mention his name, but THE THING is nothing more than a low dog who should never be allowed into pp ever again no matter what the circumstances. If ever Jack got one thing right it was telling THE THING exactly how it was.

I'm a little confused - Hamill walked out on us after metaphorically wiping his arse on the sacred number 4 and we are supposed to feel warm and fuzzy about him. Campo stayed with the club when he was offered more money to leave and he is a bad leader. :?

Now I'm confused.
Hamill metaphorically wiped his arse on our jumper and isnt a good leader.
If you ask Port supporters, Nick Stevens metaphorically wiped his arse on Ports jumper but he's our next captain.

So does leadership relate to which jumper you wipe your arse on?
Hamill was St Kilda's best captain in the past decade.
By your logic Jarusa, Kouta has forced out twice as many youngsters as Hamill.
Yet he's ok as our leader. :?

Leadership has nothing to do with dollars.

BTW, do you think Campo got his 500k+ per year, Mercedes Coupe plus partnership in a printing business without threatening to walk?
How magnanimous of him to stay.
Lets not kid ourselves.

That's not my 'logic' mate, it is Synbad's.

Blue vain, when you post I listen.

Then I realise I cannot hear anything.

So then I give reading a go.

And to think this thread started out on being Hypercritical?!?!?!?! Nothing like healthy debate

I agree that Stevens would make a great captain. He shows the drive, commitment (how can his brother ever talk to him again) and passion to lead our young brigade. As he also said in the media recently, he wants to be part of this club for the next 8 years...I'm sure that would make daddy Dennis proud

Stevens left Port to return to his home town.

Hamill left Carlton to chase money.

The comparison between the two is ridiculous.

According to Hamill he didnt go for money.
Funnily enough you take Stevo's word for it but not Hamill's.
That is the point I'm making Deano.
We forgive our own yet condemn others.

Aaron Hamill is one of the most respected players in the aFL, not just at St Kilda.
To ignore that fact diminishes your argument.
The only thing that is ridiculous is your bias.

Ask 15 other clubs who is the greater leader, Hamill, Kouta or Campo.

So what's your point BV? Would you prefer Hamill over Kouta?

Kouta - one of the leagues leading hard ball getters, and a fantastic leader who has begrudged himself for the team on countless occasions.

or

Hamill - A half forward flanker who has that wonderful quality called presence - or in other words, he has a fat arse and doesn't mind belting blokes smaller than him.

Call me biased, but I'd take one Kouta over ten Hamills any day of the week.

I wouldn't mind Mark Hamill as captain. Every shot for goal would sail through the middle.
