The Damien Barrett article in todays Herald Sun has come in for a heap of attention and has caused quite a bit of angst in the TC camp. But dont despair folks, its not all doom and gloom.Ther actually is a really "feel good" story also in todays Herald Sun.Go to page 39 in the Home section. Its an article on world champion poker player Joe Hacham. Now Joe is an old Carlton boy and a fanatical Blues supporter.Im wrapped,Joe really pumps up "The Blues".In fact every article i read about Joe he ALWAYS pumps up his beloved Blues.Joe is a real stalwart who is a credit to the club.Interestingly, his 16 year old son Anthony has been chosen for the Northern Knights and expresses a burning desire to one day represent his beloved Blues. I really hope our club is aware of Joe and his efforts of continually pushing Carlton to the front. Thanks Joe,for i as an ordinary rank and file supporter really appreciate high profile personalitys waving the Carlton flag. |

Thats good to see. It doesn't take much to help the club for people with fame, power or money. It doesnt all have to be about money. Helping to lift the clubs profile in a positive manner is a great start. Mark this post and the following words.. when I get rich and famous I will do all I can for the club and not forget my time as a humble TC poster!!! ![]() |

Yes the Hachem family are all mad Carlton. I once had to kill some time in the company of his brother but making sure we didn't discuss the one thing we had in common - a court case in which we were on opposing sides and I couldn't therefore discuss with him absent his lawyer - but when we discovered our mutual love for the Blues there was no no trouble finding a topiic of conversation, and no doubt of his fanaticism. |

Watched a DVD of the Australian movie Josh Jarman the other night. There was a scene early in the movie set in an apartment and there was a Carlton football on the mantle. Then later in the film one of the actors says "i'll meet you on the corner of O'Connel and Waite streets". O'Connel and Waite (snr) were part of the famous backline of the 70's (O'Connel, Southby, Waite) and O'Connel and Waite have both sadly passed on. It struck me as a weird coincidence, wonder if the filmmaker is a Carlton supporter. Pretty good movie by the way. |

Pip Mushin made the movie - if you remember Pip used to do the Crivelli Coffee interviews in the Inside Carlton mag's a few years ago. Pip and his brother Jamie are meshugganeh carlton supporters and any references to the Blues would be absolutely deliberate. |

I went to a presidents lunch shortly after Joe won the World Champs, he was on a table and announced to the crowd. Seemed a little desperate at the time (trying to get a donation out of him) |

I bet he kept his cards close to his chest. Or maybe they were hoping he knew how to stop a house of cards from falling down? Either way, great to hear he's an ace guy and loves to be involved with the club, I'm sure he has a great heart and is a diamond in the rough. Phew, I'm flushed after that. Royally! |

You'd think he'd be able to rescue the club. He has spare cash in spades. |
