With most calling for a few if not all changes at Board level, can some of you at least offer alternative solutions based on the general chit chat

Interesting first few posts Sal. We heard that Smorgon had developed a strategy to deal with TC - I guess you are it.

Hey Sal,
What are some of the plans or ideas that Smorgan has come up with during his time on the board?
Except of course running to the AFL for handouts and wanting to play home games interstate.
Have you seen the Watts report Sal?? You're one of Smorgos puppets surely you would have come across it.

Sal, your Master should come on here and answer a few questions instead of sending you to try and cloudy the waters.
You and of course he will find as the election draws closer if he doesnt... this thing will grow from here and it will reach the mainstream media....

So if he has a tactic for here he better be prepared to answer questions that will be difficult and he will have to be transparent..
So run back and let him know.

It is a warning... get that straight!

The current boards activities reminds me of Berlin in 1945. Stuck in their bunker, ordering up phantom divisions and armies whilst the city burns and dies.

We are a joke and the current board seem to not even care.

Be patient Grasshopper.
When we "eventually" get an AGM announced, the alternatives will surface.
According to Smorgon, we are still sorting out our financials. :?
Interesting that Collingwood held their AGM last week and presented the financials to the members.

Are we just a bit slow or are we playing political games at the expense of the members?
Surely not? 8)

I think there's a great potential for a 3-thread merge, with Sal's threads about the board and executives....

Sal....Please pass onto Graham that he'll have to do a lot more than start a covert posting campaign on boards like this to shed the "grey man" image he has.

We need someone far more dynamic than a dull-as-dishwater beancounter who is more pre-occupied with shoring up his own position in the Presidency.

So from what i hear Smorgon doesn't rate supporter internet forums. So why would you bother sending lackeys to plant his seeds?

I hear it from a few posters on here who say he doesn't. Whether it's true is another matter.

From what I heard he voted yes, then no and then yes again THEN he went from 10 to 6 and now to 12.
You sure he has not changed his mind?

Even Oliver Stone would have difficulty believing the conspirancy theory that Sal is a GS mole![/img]

Here's a thought, Sal: Why don't you come up with what you think is good plan?

I think Smorgy has just twigged that its a pretty cheap way of getting to a lot of members quickly.

Well a lot cheaper than his spin team anyway.

Problem is he has to write his own script.

It's just a shame that the stormtroopers he is sending in haven't really grasped the art of subtlety.

Interesting Sal should cop such a hiding for such a seemingly inoffensive comment. If he has an 'agenda' maybe he is not alone on TC. In fact I'm sure we all have the agenda of wanting to get the club on track. As yet no alternative group has done anything except float rumours etc. I don't know much about Smorgon, but clearly the Board has been divided. I doubt he is as hopeless as some would say. If he was challenging rather than the incumbent some would be lauding his business credentials etc.

I doubt the challengers are as good as some hope either, just fallible, ambitious men who weren't putting their hands up when the club was in it's most dire position. Basically money and lots of it is going to make or break this or any alternative board. Tom Elliott might be a financial genius but if John Elliott is his advisor as suggested by the Hun, then I won't be voting for him.
If we get someone new, it needs to be new blood, not rehashed ideas from the past or another desperate attempt by John Elliott to rehabilitate is well deserved hideous reputation.

Also I think we are understating the difficulty of the job. Why will sponsors flock to be associated with a basket case, particularly in a marketplace where Storm and Victory are successful and more international and taking part of the market. How do you instatntly trade out of an $8m debt? Or do it over years with a team that can't win. Any ideas? We are a football team, not a company. We need to be run on business principles but the whole point is the team. When it is shocking, it's hard to do business and I'm not sure we can blame Smorgo for Parkin's recruiting policies, or Big JAck rorting the cap to pay star imports like O'Reilly.

Maybe all these genius's lining up with new tickets can favour us with some solutions. But I can't believe any ticket associated with that dishonest business failure John Elliott will get any votes.

Geez some of you people are edgy, all I asked was instead of just calling for a mass culling of the Board, compliment your suggestions with some valid replacements. Are you part of the problem or part or the solution.
Furthermore, rather than just reading what you want to read I have clearly stated my opinion of Smorgon so don't give me this childish response of me being a Smorgon puppet. As for "17th Premiership", don't answer a question with a question, especially the original question.
