:o I can report that Smorgan has been asked to resign by 5 of the current Directors at tonights Board meeting with a view to also making a change to the CEO...

Influentual Carlton people have pledged their support finacially if Smorgan was to resign....

It appears that Smorgan may survive as he has the casting vote however he will be faced with a divided Board...Surprise Surprise....So much for the unity spin which by the way will continue in the Age 2morrow....

As for Malouf, well it appears he may go as the numbers are 9 to 1 in favour of removing Malouf and this time Smorgan looks like he won't get his way....AFL and all staff at carlton will be estatic should this happen....

For what it is worth, Smorgan should resign as this will ensure a new CEO will be put in place and people will once again have the confidence to invest in the club, not to mention the new CEO will have a plan, vision and structure..... A short list of CEO's has been drawn up however this cannot happen until Smorgan or Malouf go....or should I say both of them....

I would also like to add that this plan has been hatched over the lats 10 days and no leaks to the media.....HMMMMM....It just goes to show that there are some of the Directors who know how to things clsoe to their chests...

No, but I was made a Director elsewhere this week so the omens are good.

As for the silence over 10 days, that is impressive given our recent history, and I must say, required given where we are at. We could start to take guesses on the 5...Valmorbida, Lee, Newton...and Kernahan / Gleeson? Is Kernahan changing sides?

EDIT: Of course Mathieson is likely to be one of the 5 at this point in time notwithstanding him moving on shortly.

The numbers were in favour of Malouf being removed last time however Smorgan and Malouf hatched the Unity spin in the Herald Sun and the Directors got cold feet....

Smorgan does not see a need for a change as he might have to put in a few extra $$$$ to get a CEO who can do the job that's required.....

The other reason is that the majority agree that Malouf has to go but didnt all agree on the timing...This time thing may be different....

Really, Malouf's value as CEO is over now that the redevlopment of PP has been guaranteed, so move him on already!

As Kouta struts his Stuff on the dancefloor, there is murder on the dancefloor at the Carlton board meeting

Go Kouta, your a star!!!

Go Smorgan/Malouf. Go home and think long and hard that your time is over.

Sticks does what Sticks usually does....Obstains......I understand he supports Smorgan as president but I can't confirm how he voted or indeed if he voted at all.....

Sticks throws his support behind each president and when they get the big heave ho he just throws his support behind the next one... perpetually...

So Malouf gets the khyber , but Smorgan stays , which in effect means change is minimal and Smorgan and supporters become more knowledgeable and wary on who wants their head. Is that off-track?
