Apologies if this has been covered before but I was interested to know if anyone understands the seating arrangements at the MCG? I travelled down from Sydney with a friend to watch the pies game on Sat and after buying a social club guest pass for him during the week we sat in Bay 26. I expected to be in with other social club members and in general carlton supporters but it was a mixed crowd. The more surprising thing was that all the Carlton supporters (and members?) seemed to be stuck in a part of the ground to my right where they had to look into the sun all day and were baked to a crisp. This left the majority of the collingwood crowd up towards me enjoying the better view and shade. This was all at a Carlton home game. Is this just for the pies who have the MCG as their home ground? Interested to hear what other people think.

I think its a disgrace the sun is still shining and we have 30+ days at the football.

I think you'll find 50% of the ground was bathed in sunshine and that Collingwood supporters were based in the Ponsford stand, which was not in sunshine.

Collingwood appear to have got a great deal for all their games at the MCG. Good luck to them for not having to bow down to the AFL and being free to choose where they want to play.

Our seating allocation at the G is a disgrace Indigo.
Hopefully we will get a better deal when the redevelopment is completed.

I think at the moment that Carlton Social club members get to share the AFL members area, which is why there was a plethora of Filth around you.

dont forget that there is no social club at all for social club members

really, when the ground is finished, we better have a far better set up, an area which we can call our own, even if its the new "northern" stand and we must have our own bar or at the very least a "social club" in similair fashion to what we have at TD.

I hate to say it, but i actually prefer the TD over the MCG for no other reason than we have a social club bar and a social club area at TD.

I'm an AFL member and Social Club Gold member. I sit in M14 Row GG. I still got sun!!!!!!! I knew of some members who didn't take a hat to the game knowing they would be in the sun and thinking that the CFC would have enough hats to hand out with the membership but they ran out for the third week in a row. That's crap

The lack of a second scoreboard is also an issue. I can't see the permanent one from where I sit and I know the contruction work is too blame for the other one missing, but could they not put a temporary one up? Surely it can't be that hard.

The MCG offer for Carlton members is a Joke.... i had been paying a General admission Ticket and getting the best seats in the house which is at the new Ponsford Stand, u can sit in the sun, in the Shade, anywhere u like.... The View is 100 times better than the hopless AFL members area

the only Win for a carlton Social member is TD.... that Staduim is starting to feel more like home, and we without a doubt we tend to play the best footy there... not to mention the nice Facilities that we get offered from player interviews, drinks and the ever enjoyable Supporters meetings :)
