Everyone has had their say on Lance's selfishness in the last three years in terms of getting his body right but there is no doubt he is one of the most unselfish players on the field. Last night he was quieter than the previous two weeks but the amount of assists attributable to him - particularly in the first quarter - set up a blinding start. Again his workrate was phenomenal as he helped out the defence and loved his crunching tackle that - forget second efforts - was on the end of a third one. Lance its great to have you back.

Totally agree Blue Bird. I am and have always been a Lance fan, but it has been extremely disappointing to see his lack of form over the last few years.

But the last 3 weeks has seen the Lance that I always knew was there.

I think Lance's game last night, and Fev's against Essendon* shows that goals per game is clearly not the only way you can judge a forwards performance.

As for his improved form obviously the weight was a big issue and one that most of the critics and fans will focus on but surely the fact that he is also injury free and was able - unlike last year - too complete a full pre-season is also a critical factor in his improvement in 2005.

Totally agree with everything said above.

This is shaping to be the season Lance was destined to have a couple of years ago.

Love ya Lance!

KK, the N key appears to be struggling on your keyboard, maybe a game in the two's will run it back into form

I have always had faith in Lance and he is playing some great football. Even when he is quiet, which compared to the last two weeks he was last night (which is ok, because he deserves it) he was still good, he was still playing smart, fair football. Great to see him back!

I think it was more my fingers were trying to keep up with my brain....

Isn't Lace some chick-rock band from the 80s, like Heart?

P.S.: I've edited the original post.

I am loving Lance!! How far will the Blues go this year if he keeps going in the fashion he is???

Sorry to hijack this thread but, I AM LOVING CARRAZZO!!! I can see this kid having a great career at Carlton. He has not put a foot wrong since elevation last year and he just keeps improving.

I am also loving Houla - smooth as silk... 8)

However, I am worried about our Karl. He looks almost disinterested ATM. I haven't been to training for a few weeks but can anyone tell me how his training form is at present? He looks like he couldn't care less if he is somewhere else while he's playing!!! I hope i'm wrong because i'm loving him too...

Hell, if you're going to make the topic go off on a tangent like that, I LOVE CARLTON! I Love 'em all, new players and old, young and experienced!

Lance has been outstanding so far in pre-season. Great to see he's worked hard, and given himself a decent chance this year to show his wares.

It's really been obvious how much of a difference it's made having 2 key forwards performing at the same time. Although in theory, we'd like to have a little more height in our key posts, when you dominate down the spine, you dominate fullstop. Should be an exciting year if the 2 can remain fit, and continue to work hard.

It'll be interesting what happens at the end of the year with Lance. I wonder what the club will do if he's not willing to downgrade to a more reasonable (and with a significant performance-based component) contract. As big a difference as he can make when up and running, I wonder if they'd be willing to go into the trade game again with him. And if we did ever get to that stage, it would be very interesting to see what we'd get for him this time too. You'd think he'd have to have shown enough already, to get a couple of 1st round picks (given that's what Geelong gave up for Ottens?).

On carrazzo,
must say was impressed with his game and really enjoyed seeing him been given a go in the middle towards the end of the game. His clearances were great!!
