I've been thinking we wouldn't lose much by sticking someone as hungry as Santy on Tredrea and say go your hardest. He'd learn and he'd probably acquit himself as best as anyone else that we've got and it'd free up Karl, Teague, Digby and others to manage the rest of the forward line.

It's my idea of "what have you got to lose?" And I'd also make a heap of other changes.
Is Chambers fit? In.
Bentick. In Sporn Out.
Wiggo out. Longmuir in (if fit)
Campo out (susp) for Chambers.

Brendan Fevola 7 2
Lance Whitnall 7 6
Eddie Betts 7 2
Adrian DeLuca 5 1
Matthew Lappin 4 2
Jarrad Waite 5 5
Justin Davies 2 7
TOTAL 37 25

Just completing the point.... 37.25 from our 7 main forward isn't that bad actually, accuracy of 60%, take out Davies and its 66%.

Which means that our midfielders are missing a hell of a lot of goals as well - what gives? Too many pot shots from 50m?

Separate point, but if you tally up the scoring shots to each player, Whits has the most (13), then WAite (10)... and then on equal third we have Fev, Betts and Davies (9). Are we not using Fevola enough? Or do opposition coaches know that he's our main avenue, best kick etc. and if they focus enough attention on him, the rest of the forward line may not be up to it (yet)?

nice idea about setanta, i gather theyw ant to give him some years in the VFL but who better to learn from... playing fwd against an 18 year old or playing defence against the best key forward in the comp? (riewoldt injured!)

but WBY, Sporn shouldn't be dropped. He's a natural midfielder who has been thrown back in my view, I think he's doing well. He isn't running off them to make possession as much as he could, but thats a confidence thing. his stats may be down but his competing is excellent. He's the type of player who has to be in the 22 in my view.

I like Sporn, but he seems a bit lost for form at the mo. A run in the Ants might be the tonic and it also gives the message to others that changes will be made; that you can't expect a game on talent / history etc alone.

another interesting thing to note

We have the third highest total score in the league.

Granted we also have the highest scored against us, but again, the accuracy that we have faced in the first 3 games would go along way to contribute to this stat.

I just think, that considering we have played so bad, yet still be able to boost the 3rd highest total score is something to not be dismissed, nor is the accuracy in which teams have had against us.

There is alot of doubt creeping in for some people, and im just trying to point out that, even though we are playing crap, we where still in with a chance in both games we lost, unlike last year, and for me that is a big improvment.

The gameplan is fine the execution isnt.

yep, agree with this.

there's a huge difference between kicking long to a lead, which we were doing in the wizz cup, and bombing high to a static and outnumbered forward, which we're doing now.

we're leaving a huge area for the opposition backs to set up a counter-attack. if you take an aerial view of our team, you'd find it's stretched long-ways, unlike the compact shape we held in the wizzer.
