Was just watching 10 news and heard a report that Barry Hall has signed a 4 year contract esitmated to be worth $500,000 a year!

Personally, i reckon Fev shits all over Hall. However, saying that, Hall is probably worth that amount anyway!

So Fev is currently on something minute like $190k per year (i think) and with Hall getting what he is, (is) Fev is gonna want something similar.

And not just that, other clubs are going to offer him something similar to the benchmark that has now been created by the Hall deal. Probably more!

Jonathan Brown is also out of contract come season end and he will no doubt be heavily chased. Problem is, i couldn't see him leaving (with being offered the Captaincy & his Father's history with the club) hence making the chase for Fevola that much more intense.

Now, my main conceren however is not Fevola because i fully believe that he would stay with the Club! It's Lance that i'm worried about.

Lance is on what........$500k? And with the Hall deal already setting a standard price for a Forward, Lance will not want to take a paycut!
Especially when The Bulldogs, North Melbourne, West Coast, Hawthorn, & Adelaide preparing to shop hard at the seasons end for a Forward!

This Hall deal is bad news!

I know a lot of people were very much up for the idea of Trading Lance last year (and myself included at times) but with the Wizard Cup campain, well, it just prooved that Lance and Fev working together shows potential for the two of them to be the most Potent and Dangerous forward line in the comp! And they are both of a similar age too so it's something that can last for 5+ years!

Would love to hear others thoughts?

to put it blundtly

if lance wants 500k its trade time.

not even big fev is worth 500k.

at most i would pay around 400k for fev

Hall (Contested marks and on the lead) > Fevola (On the lead)

Hall is worth $500K after a marketing arrangement. The Swans are being rather stupid. Having said that if players want the money, well, they can go elsewhere. We don't want people like that at the club.

Camporeale, Whitnall - they will receive paycuts regardless of what their form is. They are not worth $600K and $500K respectively. Try $350K or $300K - if they want to leave, well, that's fine. With Camporeale's increasing lack of leadership, then it maybe better in the long run.

A player like Fevola who is a genuine matchwinner is definitely worth at least $400K. Given that he could be offered more with a marketing arrangement that could push him up to $450K. Surely the chance to work with Pagan for another 3 years after this one would be one card that other clubs cannot deal to Fev.

I'd rather have Hall than Lance or Fev given his ability to take a mark and force the defenders to think where's Hall? Pity we traded the pick that got him for Devonport.

Well if Fev continues the way he is at the moment, he will not be game enough to ask for anything near 500K. Don't get me wrong, I love Fev but he's currently not playing anywhere near where a top forward should be & I don't think on his current form he could be commanding an overly high salary. I know what he is capable of doing but just at the moment don't think he is able to command the salary that is being bandied around at the moment.

* Edited by me so it doesn't sound as negative as the original!!!

different players - hall and fev

i tell you what though - if Brown is up - throw whatever (within reason, meaning not walker, t-bird etc..) at Brisbane to get him down.

He is the perfect foil for what we lack in our side.

If Whitnall and Fevola want $500,000 each a year get rid of them.

No Carlton player is worth that a year

I would swap both for Jonathan Brown

You'd also trade/delist T-Lo, Bryan, Wiggo and Digby.

I said no such thing on Chris Bryan,Simon Wiggins i said their names would be the first of a few on top of the list.

Who do you think would be? Chris Bryan is 23 so they will expect him to play seniors in fact i would like him taking French spot he is 30 how many years will he have 5 years the most if he plays to 35.

There is going to be at least 6 to 8 players have to be delisted or traded it will not be the young first year draft picks or the players who play each week it will be the VFL players or players in the 4th or 5th year like Simon Wiggins.

For the record i want Wiggins and Bryan to be kept while Morrell spot will be in danger when Fisher ,Ohalipin and Deluca are up forward and Longmuir must do something to stay,he can't play VFL football and play a hand full of games.

Wiggins is a good player but you can't put him in the team when there is Carazzo,Bentick ,Simpson and others there someone will be traded you wait and see.

I bet Carlton would think of trading Houilhan if they can, any player would be considered except a very few.

If you really want to know who i would keep and who i wouldn't at this stage round 3 you wouldn't like it, this could change.

Whitnall (trade) unless he has a huge year
Clarke (delist)
Johnson (delist)
Longmuir (delist) picked him to be a regular he will be gone if not
Bowyer (delist)
Morrell (trade) If younger guys step up, he should be traded
Livingston (trade) time and luck is running out for him
Prendergast (trade) not that i want to, but someone has to be and it looks like it would be him or Wiggins,Simpson,Bentick ,Carazzo,Houilhan or Karl Norman

Their is only 2 i can see going, Bowyer and Clarke and then the 6 others could be anyone.

well if Kouta and Camporeale retire after the year their is 2 spots
but another 4- 6 spots will be needed.

I doubt Sporn,Davies,Waite and Thornton will go as they signed deals for a few years.

Remember it's round 3 all the above could have great years so some one else could go.

who do you think will be the 6 or 8 at this stage then

Also Setanta O'hAilpin will take someone spot because he can't be a rookie next year or he will be delisted.

There only has to be a minimum of 3 changes.

Is that true, yeh but i doubt any club has ever only had 3 changes to their list from last season, i presume we will have 6 at least if we do reasonable.

You want to get rid of potentially the best Full Forward and Centre Half forward combo in the league? Who would you replace them with?

What's the big deal about players salaries anyway. If we dont pay it someone else will.

Another Jonathan Brown from the rookie draft apparently.

Al Bundy - that was complete rambling.

A and B will go, but they won't  , but because I say they should go, they might go.

At least get your thoughts together cohesively before presenting them please.

Longmuir has been injured and played well in the VFL apparently. Check your facts.
