Brilliant work CB, Deano, Jarusa, Cazs and whoever else was responsible for this masterpiece in such quick time. I was online on Friday and saw TBV disappear before my eyes, in fact I may have been one of the final posters. Very sad, I feel bitter about it but I guess we all should look to the future and maybe learn a few lessons from the past. This is amazing to get this thing up so quick. It reminds me of a Get Smart episode where KAOS were destroying city buildings but the public never knew because an army of workers would rebuild them overnight. Anyway perhaps Synbad can log in and give us dictionary definitions of arrogant, overbearing, self important, intolerant, petty and spiteful, then we'll have very clear guidelines as to how to behave (mods can delete this bit if it's provocative).
Re TBV, seems a shame that such a successful site, such a time capsule of views on a great Australian cultural pursuit should just disappear into the ether. If Go Baggers is reading this or if camelboy could pass on a suggestion, the National Library and State Libraries archive various websites as they go out of existence to maintain a record of the range of online publication that have existed. Otherwise these ephemeral reflections of what we are circa 2005 are lost forever. I reckon TBV would be an excellent example of a footy forum, and I doubt they have archived any others. If interested GB could email
info@slv.vic.gov.au or check
http://www.slv.vic.gov.au/about/partner ... b/pandora/ . be a real shame if it just disappeared. Imagine if we could access footy discussion from 1905, I reckon TBV would fascinate people in 2105.
