I know a loss isn't a good thing, but well I would still think we should do our 5-4-3-2-1 for the match.

5. Nick Stevens
4. Adrian DeLuca
3. Barnaby French
2. Matthew Lappin
1. Eddie Betts

That was a hard decision.

I would have put French ahead of Deluca. If we had better midfield efforts, his fine work in the ruck would have been reflected in a Carlton win I think.

Our most effective players today would have been:

5. Nick Stevens
4. Matty Lappin
3. Barney French
2. Scott Maclaren
1. Rhys Shaw

Is McLaren going to give himself 2 Brownlow votes for today's effort against us? McClown more like. cauliflower.

Anyway...

5 Stevens
4 Barney
3 DeLuca
2 Lappin
1 Betts

Almost made the list: Houla, McGrath, Scotland, Prenda, Carazzo, Waite.

I'm not going to talk about Fev, but I also don't think the problems we had with him today were his fault. Entirely.

I think the umpiring was terrible on both sides, not just Carlton. But I can't believe how many times McLaren got in the way of the game.

5 - Stevo
4 - Lappin
3 - Betts
2 - French
1 - Deluca

What has happened to Fevs, Campa and McGrath??

Again I struggle to understand how some of you can put Betts in your top 5 best players.

This isn't a knock on the other players, but he was sensational, best thing to happen to this club in 9 years. French was great again also.

Come on guys.... the umpiring was definitely in our favour today. Doesn't matter than it was generally woeful, 4 goals from frees is hard to live with. I prefer it when it's the other way around!

5 French - tireless, great effort, tried all day
4 Waite - only winning forward all day
3 Stevens - set up alot, only downside was his opponent probably did more
2 Houlihan - 21 stats as a solid defender
1 Lappin - because the Rabbit is a great player

With this in mind, I generally agree with the Extractor and his voting.

Why DeLuca? What did DeLuca do that made you give him votes? Not having a go at you camel, but I just can't see that at all.

I thought he provided a good alternate forward option, something we need to desperately encourage with Fev and Lance continually getting double teamed. Yeah, maybe he could have played a better game, but he's hardly alone there.
