Wasn't at the game, so not really equipped to say what went wrong today. And no doubt our form will improve again at some stage of the year (getting some key position defenders will obviously help as well). But with 2 interstate games to follow, and a 1-4 scoreline after round 5, we've lost any chance we might have ever had of reaching the finals this year.

Until we can consistently defeat most teams who are around our 'talent level', we won't progress out of the middle/lower end of the ladder.

An amazing start to the year from an average team in the Kangaroos! Pretty big contrast between them and us in terms of taking your chances and grinding out some wins!

I wouldn't go that far ... yet.

However, the team should be concentrating on playing 4 quarters of football every week, not postponing September holidays.

We let this game slip, and for that I expect Denis to work them hard next week, be that mentally or physically.

I know it's easy to be too negative, particularly straight after losses. But do you think we're a chance the next 2 weeks, Camelboy? Or do you think we can somehow come back from 1-4?

I wouldn't quite write our chances of finals off just yet, but on today's form, we'll just scrape in if we do.

the good thing is that there's plenty of footy left in the season, and although our next couple of matches look hard, the run home, isn't too bad. I think we are a chance to steal the match from Freo, which I will assess next week, but I wouldn't write us off just because it's in Perth.

No Thornton, no Livo, no hope.

Digby is NOT up to it in the backline. It's just a shame we have no other options. No idea where to play him.

Norman doesn't seem to have the raw desire. Someone needs to light a rocket under him.

Davies is wildly inconsistent and a Frees Against merchant. Too wasteful in front of goal for the small forward role he seems to have been placed in.

Wiggins never looks calm or settled. Invents ways to fumble the ball.

Also been a bit disappointed with Sporn of late, but I think he'll come good.

Out: Davies, Wiggins In: Simpson, Walker

Once Livo and Thornton are back I really can't see a place for Digby either.

Fevola and Whitnall were sun bathing rather than playing football.

No need to push the panic button yet.

Changes are needed next week. We will need foot speed and bite around the packs next week.

Perhaps bring in Walker, Bannister Chambers, Bowyer and Bentick ... and omit five.

We need a defense (aka Livo and T-Bird), once we get them back our game will be better.

THE FINALS ARE OVER??? It's Round 3 silly. You can't say that until at least Round 20, but we aren't out of the finals race yet.

Poor Houla and Stevo. Milestone games and the umpires stuff us up. McClaren should be sacked.

I think it'll be best if I don't reply for the rest of the night until I've cooled down, coz I will regret things later on.

I know it's round 3, and it's still early in the season, and I'm pretty disappointed that we've let another 'must-win' game slip. But I'm not sure that we're good enough to win 11 out of the last 17 games, which is probably what we'll need after we get to 1-4 (can't see much chance at all of winning interstate over the next 2 weeks).

I'm glad we won the Wizard Cup. Good for the club. Good for my barrackers 'optimism'. But you can't help thinking that being up so early and being so exposed to the rest of the competition, might have cost a couple of games early in the season (along with the goalkicking accuracy of our opposition).

Oh well, I guess if we're going to develop into a really good side long term, then we're going to need to be good enough to overcome all those sorts of setbacks (including having the opposition absolutely hammered in the lead up to the match).

Umpires stuff us up? If anything they saved us from total embarrassment.

NORMAN IS POX, and Davies too, they are soo shit, my sister is a bartender at Spy Lounge, every week Norman is pissed there, he is a disgrace, and i hope he gets delisted, it makes me angry because i actually thought that in parts last year he was gonna make it at AFL level, he is POX.

We're obviously not going to be favourites, but our best football will keep any side honest. We've yet to play our best footy yet, so at least we have plenty of room for improvement.

We should be playing our best footy now unless some players have gotten ahead of themselves as to how good they are(Carrazzo, Davies,McGrath). Apart from Stevens(champion),Lappin, Camporeale and Kouta although they did was chip the ball around. When they should have gone long and quick to Archie,Lance and Fev, when they did Archie marked 1 out against his opponent.
Shame Morrell and Norman can't be dropped. :(

We were never going to make the finals anyway we are still a long way off.
Why you ask no talls down back, dumb footballers, no midfield. Yes we only have Kouta , Campo and Stevens they have all played ever single minute, Kouta and Campo are coming to the end of there careers and to fill the void we ony have Walker and Russel. T-bird would have been handy today on Tarrant but livo would have not made any difference. Chambers we could have done with and Carrazzo is a hack i dont get care how many kicks he gets he does shit all with them and contantly makes mistakes and we can not afford to have him or anyone making so many mistakes.

I reckon both of these guys can play a role in our best defence, but they need support. If we had T-bird and Livo playing today do you reckon Morell would have been exposed to Rocca, or Norman on Tarrant all day?

One very average team beaten by another very average team. Finals talk is/has been premature I think, yes we miss T-bird and Livo but given that we struggle to beat other also-rans like scum and the pies, teams like port, lions, demons, eagles, cats etc will still smash us.

We will soon have our status as average confirmed or otherwise after the next 2 rounds.

Karl should get dropped. He doesnt even look like he desires to be out there. Everything is at half urgency his concentration levels are terrible,I reckon he is having a negative effect on Teague and Digby who look to me like theyre trying to cover for him too much.
Reality check.
We have a long way to go if were going to make the final.
At the end of the day if you have not got the class youre fooling yourself.
Were waiting on players to come on.. some probably wont.

Were relying on too few.. especially Kouta and Stevens.
