We didnt think they'd win the flag. Most of us didnt think they'd win 20 games Some of us thought theyd go backwards, The rest of us though theyd finish between 6 and 12. So we have to lose some. It's just a pity that we lost a cpl that we used to pencil in as wins |

That post reminds me of something by Leonard Cohen. Id think that if you are not being tongue in cheek, then your level of depression is probably a bit excessive. Im dpressed, but in a controlled way. Im hoping that we havent lost the bounce back factor we had in 2004. |

I agree, we will have to lose some this year to even break even with the most positive fan's assessment of the year. BUT WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE TO THOSE FILTHY BASTARDS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?! |

Contrast that with Jarrad Waite's set shot in Q1 that missed everything by about 20m. |

I could write 1000 word post here on the reasons why but i'll summarise a few points We're a lazy team. Lazy going forward, lazy manning up, lazy in defence We are too slow and lazy when we get the pill to create options and run into space. LAZINESS We refuse to run hard to man up on opponents when we dont have the ball and create a contest. LAZINESS Yes we have numbers in defence all the time but we always have 2-3 extra back there and then dont have these players further up the ground when we need them in an attacking sense. Run back but then also run forward. Ties into my 1st point. Once again, LAZINESS Bombing the ball continuously into F50 thinking that Carey has returned from retirement and is going to take big pack grabs. Forward players running to the same spots instead of sacrificing their games a little and running to different spots to open the forward line up. LAZINESS and STUPIDITY. I am not so pissed off that the filth won because they lifted well and played good, running footy. We let them do that. We were schizenhausen!!! I am ropeable about yesterday. What a pack of weak bastards!! The filth didn't win yesterday, we lost the game. It doesn't help that teams suddenly become extraordinarily accurate when they meet us. The filth kicked 15.1 in the 2nd half. Amazing |

Macriblue couldnt said it better myself. We have to many donkeys running around in our side Waite, Fev and Prenda. Waite and Prenda are dumb footballers and Fev just cant mark a ball. Carrazzo shocking disposal we might aswell play Clarke and Heath Scottland he is killing us he just aint accountable for his opponent. |

IMO Denis doesnt need a plan b. plan bs mean youre not doing plan a. Denis plan a is proven to work if you follow it. What were doing is like ... scoring a recipe to make a great choccie cake and not following the recipe .. tasting it .. its crap...then throwing out the recipe and looking for another recipe. I think those that go to training on a regular basis woul probably agree were not doing what we train to do. We wont win games till we do. End of story. PS the game plan isnt that complicated but it does need effort. |

[quote="marciblue". It doesn't help that teams suddenly become extraordinarily accurate when they meet us. The filth kicked 15.1 in the 2nd half. Amazing[/quote] As I mentioned elsewhere our opponents have kicked: 53 goals 21 behinds (74 shots) against us in the past 3 games we have kicked: 44 goals 29 behinds (73 shots) Jarusa has mentioned that our opponents have kicked way above average for AFL accuracy. we had better hope Port Adelaide and Fremantle kick to the AFL average if we are to have any chance. ![]() |

AGRO, how many times could we have punched the ball through the goals and conceding a point instead of just allowing them to waltz in and score . Of course youre not going to kick points from point blank range. Defensively we were a joke and the tone was set by a few players that need to be given a spell. 4 weeks ago we were happy we had competition for spots. Id think Denis needs to start giving players in the ressies a shot and see what they can do. |

PS the game plan isnt that complicated but it does need effort. synbad, marciblue touched on the fact we've got numbers back, but those numbers aren't running forward when we get the ball. This was a huge factor in us winning the Wizard Cup, numbers back and then running forward, finally getting Fev and Whitnall in a Pagan's Paddock situation. You're at training a lot, this is a huge part of the game plan...correct? We've stopped running. Chambers, T-Bird and Livo are out of the team from the W.C. Livo provides no run, Chambers was mostly playing centre-forward, rather than back-centre (I must credit The Prez with starting the 'who's missing' idea). T-Bird is just a rock, linking up in the backline, but not really providing the run. Lappin, Houla, Scotland, Campo, Sporn were providing a lot of the run. In an effort to generate some positive discussion and looking at how we can improve, rather than just bagging the players..... How do we get that run back? |

You're right, I am going to spew if I see us 'piddling the ball' around the goalsquare trying to clear it, or watching an opponent crumb a ball and kick a goal. But I am also going to spew if another opponent has a 70+ % accuracy rate from set shots and nails every boundary line snap they take. ![]() |

Depressed sooks. We lost, we played crap, we missed our oppurtunities. We've got our two best big backs coming back into the side and we have Chambers who gave us an extra dimension coming back. With T-Bird or Livo on Tarrant he would've only kicked 2 or 3 at the most and T-Bird gives us a ton of drive out of the back. And we didn't have Walker in the side. As good as Johno is inside the packs Walker is fast, can kick a goal and always provides a contest. Not too mention he's the future of this club. We have a heap of things to improve from that performance and a lot of them will be improved when those players come back. If Bannister and Walker are fit they should be in the team every week. With Chambers, Bannister, Walker, T-Bird and Livo we would've just blown them off the park. Unfortunatley we didn't, and we have a lot of good football left in us and we will have a lot more wins by the end of the season. |

I think we had some run in us. We definitely had more run in our legs than Collingwood who had 2 days less than us to recover. Theyre also as slow as treacle... The problem isnt the players who we have missing.. its some of the players who are in the side. theyre static.. yes i know it was hot!It was actually 38c at half time.. But collingwood showed us what you can do out there if you really want it bad enough. we were a disgrace. The umpiring gave us a chance and Denis was hoping we would run over the top of them in that heat and them having 2 days less to prepare and get fresh. Just goes to show you wont win if you dont want to leave your comfort zone. We definitelty didnt want to do anything hard yesterday. It was too hot. |

Good point. Although it didn't work too well in the case of Brett Johnson this week. Even before the game, I thought it was a strange choice, given that we're not exactly flush with hard (and quick) runners. |

The other thing we are unlucky about is that we always seem to play teams who are on the rebound or coming under intense media scrutiny. Looks like Port Adelaide are going to be suitably fired up for us next week after they get done by Adelaide. ![]() |
