Post subject:  Potential Carlton All Australians

I'd like to know what you people think of Carlton player's chances of being an All Australian. Here's some of my thoughts:

Current or previous All Australians:
Kouta
Lance Whitnall
Matthew Lappin
Brendan Fevola
Nick Stevens?

Potentials:

Marc Murphy - Almost definite. Probably Ruck Roving with Judd for many years.

Kade Simpson - Competing with the likes of Kerr, Judd, Hayes, Goodes, etc, I don't think he's got a shot.

Andrew Walker - Probably won't get it in the guts, maybe down at the half back flanks. Yes.

Bret Thornton - We all know he can be as good or better than Rutten or Glass. Garry Lyon gave him a huge praise. I'd say definitely.

Setanta O'hAilpin - Who knows?

Jarred Waite - You would think he needs to kick 50 or something goals. I don't think so, which is a shame.

Brad Fisher - As above.

Adam Bentick - Not likely, however James McDonald got a spot. Both good honest midfielders who love to tackle

Josh Kennedy - Not at HF, too much competition. But Walls will find a spot for him

Jordan Russell - Needs to improve head to toe, no realistic chance.

Eddie Betts - Would need to set up quite a few and win matches like Davey and Didak whilst kicking 30 plus goals. Bring it on Betts.

Heath Scotland - He's our very own Scott West. Very good chance. Maybe more than one.

The rest will never ever be best in their positions.

pencil in murphy, walker, gibbs(?) as all australians.

simmo, russell, kennedy, o'hailpin, betts should sneak in 1 or 2 years.

waite, fisher, thornton would need to have very good years and i cant see them getting more than 1, at best 2 years.

Do you have to be "Australian" to be "All Australian"?

Have Kenelly or Stynes been selected in the past?

just curious....

Same as everybody else.

I also think for Gaelic games this year, Walker and Simmo will both be picked.
