Sort of... Caroline Wilson in her front page article about Thomas compares the ruthlessness of St Kilda to sack a finals Coach (3 years in a row) to our Board who went to water despite 2 wooden spoons. have to agree with Caro's 'Compare and contrast' Year 12 English Essay! |

You could also argue that St Kilda should have realised GT could not coach after only one season and sacked him then, they may have already cost themselves a premiership. Anyone can spin anything anyway they like. As we have seen in the last week. |

If we're following that line of argument they shouldnt have recruited him in the first place; its not about could haves and should haves. its a comparison of 2 Clubs; where they are and why they have acted or otherwise. |

If I wanted to I could write a scathing article about how the whole AFL community has seen that GT is a joke for several years, yet the Saints board sat on their hands and dithered while 3 premiership chance winning years just dissapeared. ![]() |

Everyone new he was no good after 6 months yet they kept extending his contract for fear of looking like the shambles they are. They paid Blighty $3m with obviously no idea of what he was like, then they sacked him to employ an assistant also with no idea. Yet the Saints do it sooooo well. Their window hasn't closed yet but they've let others catch up and open up next to theirs. Freo and Bullfrogs are the next wave after Weagles and Swans meaning their lack of talent drafted in the last 4 years will let them down as soon as Gehrig, Harvey etc retire. You can't replace that with the Clarkes or McQualter. |

mmmm....they've got a serious issue on their hands...... Thomas did everything at that club (rightly or wrongly), They will spend the next month "discovering" stuff that should've been done by someone, that was being done by Thomas. On the flipside for Carlton, that's the advantage of having a coach that coaches....player contracts, recruitment, trades possibilities will only have had a minor effect with last weeks shenannigans..... StKilda are going to have to get on top of this and do it fast |

An early repayment for Sticks' comments? They don't need repayment. Their publication is repayment enough. |
