It's all kicking off today folks. Regardless of whether he wins it or not -- congratulations to the young bloke for having a sensational first 12 games for the Navy Blue! If he doesn't win it -- well, we all know that he would have pantsed all other contenders if he had played the full season. If you're worried or upset over the current turmoil at the club, think of this bloke, and the way he has been carrying himself on and off the field in his first season of AFL football. Doesn't it just make you wanna smile? ![]() Marc Murphy wrote: Reflecting on the past six months, probably the one lesson which stands out for me is how hard I need to work to be the best. Another impression is how enjoyable it's been. Footy clubs are great places to be around, the atmosphere and the friends. I only played in two winning matches during the season and it was such a good feeling around the club after the game and during the week. Hopefully next year we'll have many more. Not hopefully, definitely. Marc Murphy wrote: The pain in my left shoulder was instant and sharp and I knew straight away I was a 'goner'. I got up and tried to stay involved in the play thinking that I would have one last chance to take one of them with me, so when Ben Fixter fumbled the ball in front of me I tackled him as hard as I could and ended up taking his weight and mine on my left shoulder. It didn't tickle. Brendan Felova wrote: You're leading, who do you want to have the ball?
Marc Murphy. He passed to me in the Melbourne game, the first game of the year. He was about 40m out, I was standing in the pocket sort of by myself and he didn't even look at me. He could've had a shot, but he passed it to me. And if you look at the vision, he didn't even look at me, and someone was about to smother the footy. I remember looking up at the scoreboard and thinking, gee, this kid's a freak. Hopefully on Wednesday he gets the NAB Rising Star because I reckon he deserves it. |

Exactly. The only reason he won't win is because he was injured. |

Doesn't matter if he doesn't win everyone knows he will have the best career. What time is this award? Why didn't Carrazzo get a nomination? |

I dunno - I hope like everyone else he gets it - but Pearce and Raines would be worthy winners too. I hope Heath Shaw doesn't win. he's probably a very nice young man - but a young guy in the ammo's could do what he has done this year across half back...cheap stats. The judges should have a look at the respect John Worsfold gave Murph - putting Stenglein as a tag on him ...and he shook it...I think if the judges were the AFL coaches - Murph might be in with a shot. How much was Matt Burgan paid by Collingwood to vote for Heath Shaw this morning?? For me it'll probably be - 1. Pearce (huge impact in 2nd half of year) 2. Raines (done really well and has had an opponent each week) 3. Murphy (injury to cost him the award - but I'm sure he won't mind) |

of course he is CB, he was nominated, I think Pearce should win, Raines played his first senior game in 04 FFS - bloody stupid criteria they have in this! |

newbies ![]() kk, last year it seemed that every week someone would ask if Andrew Carazzo was eligible for the NRS. Asking if someone was eligible for the NRS became a standing joke from then on. |
