For what it's worth, someone has posted at CSC that Pagan is gone, with Mitchell to replace him and Ratten, Dean and Bradley to return as assistants. Not particularily novel, but it's the first time I've heard Bradley's name mentioned. Anyway, sounds like we will know one way or the other in about 5 hours. |

any mention as to where the $$ come from nightcrawler? If Jim Wilson is correct that "someone" has tipped in the payout money...he's gone for sure. I'ld like to hear the condition of the new appointees too? Is it pending a new search or is that just it? |

Not sure about the good ol boys approach, but then I'm not so sure about the Pagan approach so I guess it will be a case of play the kids and see what happens. I just hope whoever coaches the club next year will tell the fans wtf they're trying to achieve and how. I hope they can get out in the media and sell a good story that will translate to membership sales. And more importantly I just hope I can hope. |

The poster, Benie I think it was said "associated businessmen of the club are coming up with the money for Pagan's payout". That's all I know sorry. |

I know it would be more appropriate to assess decent list of candidates and determine the best one instead of placing Mitchell directly but I don't necessarily think he is the worst appointment like some are making out. He handles himself extremely well and has been annointed as AFL ready by some. He has been in the system a while and could turn out to be a masterstroke. He definitely has a good rapport with the players so it is not doomsday like some are saying. Regardless, I think it will be an improvement on Pagan |

"Premiership stars Greg Williams, Craig Bradley, Brett Ratten, and Peter Dean will all be involved in the new off-field team." |

More financially stable without Pagans contract hanging over our heads. |

There was a poster on here about a month ago who said this would happen. This must have been in the planning for a while now. Maybe Big Jack still has some influence at Carlton. He wanted Carlton blood inside the coaching box and Pagan out. It is the perfect time to make this decision. Who ever is in charge next week needs to be focusing on drafts, trades and player list management. We can't afford to stuff up anymore. I'm glad it waited to the end of season though, this is when these sort of issues need to be sorted out. I still can't believe the Richmond Tiger behaviour that some Carlton supporters on here adopted during this season. It was absolutely feral. ![]() |

Yeah real financially stable ... 1.2m PLUS another 0.5m at least. Paying $1.7m for a rookie coach for 2 years makes a lot of sense. ![]() |
