Some info about Paul Bower.

1096th Carlton player.

Will be 18 years 230 days old which is four days younger that Bruce Doull (aged 18 years & 234 days old in his debuted against South Melbourne at Princes Park in Round 5, 1969 a win by 25 points). He will be the same age on debut as Bill Jones who debuted in a win by 80 points against North Melbourne at Arden Street in Round 9, 1931.

He will be 91st Carlton player to debut against Collingwood. (46 started with a win, 6 with a draw & 38 with a defeat)

10th player to debut against Collingwood at the MCG

8th to debut against Collingwood at the MCG on a Sunday. :-D

Two of his teammates have debuted against Collingwood at the MCG on a Sunday (Brendan Fevola (Round 17, 1999 win by 57 points) & Josh Kennedy (Round 6, 2006 defeat by 72 points)).

From the beginning of the 1995 season 96 players have debuted for Carlton and Paul Bower will be the 9th youngest player to debut with 16 of these being under the age of 19 years on debut and 13 are still on Carlton's list.

9th Paul to play for Carlton in the league (since 1897).

Paul Constance is the only other Paul at Carlton to debut against Collingwood (Round 11, 1966 at Princes Park a win by 11 points). Three have played in a Carlton senior premiership (Paul Schmidt in 1938, Paul Hurst in 1972 and Paul 'Molly' Meldrum in 1987). Paul Meldrum has played the most with 158 games and Paul Schmidt the most goals with 228. (Only other Paul with over a 100 Carlton goals is Paul Meldrum with 140 goals).

The only Bower to play for Carlton.

Arthur Sanger with 116 games has played the most games in guernsey number 18 (Justin Murphy is the only other player to play over 100 in number 18 with 115 games) and four of these other 34 players to have play only played one league game. Peter Sartori has scored the most goals in number 18 with 119 goals from his 54 games and Brian Walsh 108 goals from 62 games and Justin Murphy 105 goals form 115 games. 12 of these 34 players to play in number
18 have not scored a goal.

Only Carlton player to be recruited from Peel Thunder and will be the 45th player recruited from Western Australia with another 14 players to have been recruited from other league sides but started in Western Australia.

By my reckoning he's the third senior listed player to be sponsored by an unofficial fan forum. Although he is the first Paul to be sponsored in this manner.
