I know I've been singing US for the last few years because that is how it is currently written. BUT I admit it doesn't feel right to me.
Reading this thread got me thinking as to why it doesn't feel right and I think my dad and Grandpa taught me the UP version. Unfortuately I can't ask them as they are deceased.
I am basing this on a memory of a book he gave me (early 80's). I no longer have it but maybe someone else remembers it?? It was a CFC kids book about a dad taking his kid to the footy (including the Bluebirds and all ) and the back page had the song.
Can anyone confirm the version in this book?

There was one for every team, I used to teach classmates to read using these books - and I specifically remember the Carlton one with the champions of that day (mid 80s??) - and the Bluebirds, and how much the dad loves them.

Sorry, although I remember that the club song was on the last page or the back page, I don't have the book... would love to get my hands on it though for my little brother.

this is what's wrong with the club. It's stuck in the past playing 100+ year old songs. We're a joke.

We've been left behind - look at Freo and West Coast and geez Adelaide. You don't hear those clubs playing 100 year old songs. They've moved on.
We need to learn from them not keep our heads in the sand and suffer the consequences.

We could get Kanye or Fiddy to do something and move with the times. Until this club gets it right we will not improve. The whole place needs a clean out and start again.

If that's the 'official' AFL version, then it must be wrong.

Point to note,

should read:

* the team that never lets you down

OK - you could look at the team as a non-entity, which means "that" would be correct .. but as the team is a collection of people, then "who" fits. And as the song is sung by people, then it should be "who".
