Yet to hear the new version tommi; about to now though. :yikes:

Here it is:

https://omny.fm/shows/triple-m-footy/new-footy-songs-carlton/embed?style=cover&size=square

Fair call on the snare tommi.

Don't like it nearly as much as the other version.

UP is now US.

Also, sounds like a very poor edit at 1:12. Or at the very least, an unnecessary half-beat thrown in.

Would not the Club have approved it though?

Quote:
"The AFL was approached by a number of clubs to provide minor updates to their songs," Auld said in a statement to SEN.

"In doing so, we offered all the clubs the ability to have a new recording, to offer stronger digital sound quality. A number of the club songs are old recordings of diminishing quality.

Seems a bit more sterile .... I always thought the traditional (late 60s??) one was awesome .. I feel it had more character with a bit more emphasis and feeling on the trumpet.

So clubs have the choice as to whether the new or old versions will be used.

Collingwood says they will not use the new version.

I'll say that we will (mainly due to UP being replaced with US).

The vocals sound weird, not because I'm used to the true version, they just sound to clear or something.

Sounded like a school band with the teacher joining in who thinks he’s a brass hotshot.

BWAAA BWAAA BWAA BWAA BWAA

Yeah. The trombones are more that way.
I don't mind it. It sounds crisper all round and I reckon they have just remixed the harmony to bring it up a bit.
