Not a fan of this show but there's not much else on so I tuned in to see Rod Ashman interviewed. Great to hear him talk about exactly what my Carlton supporting family have told fullmont & I since we were old enough to listen. The players were told to never accept losing to Collingwood & Richmond. They used to have team dinners before the games & that was something that was impressed upon them. Kevin Bartlett asked who would say this & Ashy said the players, coaching staff, past players, match commitee, president & supporters!! It was just not accepted to lose to them.. A timely reminder considering this weekends game & the reason why Carlton, Collingwood, Richmond & Essendon* are the most important teams in the league. And that my friends is the reason why I hate Collingwood more than anything. Ever. GO BLUES!!! |

I had the pleasure of spending many hours, days, weeks and months with Ashy years ago talking footy and pouring over his weekly carlton stats sheet when he was on the committee. if ever there was a true bloke, a champion of the CFC and someone with whom you would go to war....he is it. what a fantastic fella he is |
