I liked the bit where Bell threw a bottle against the wall.

The guy on 3AW amped it up a bit but even so, it came over as being one hell of a dummy spit.

Some breif flashes of brilliance from Kouta in the second half was pleasing. As was our ability to run out the game with some good goals, albeit in junk time. It at least showed that we are willing to run the game out and at least give us some hope that there is a brighter future around the corner.

MVP voting is now open as well: http://www.talkingcarlton.com/phpBB2/vi ... hp?t=11694

Kouta had some acceleration happening as well. It was a $1m sprint and goal! his return was good as he hasn't had a good 'captains game' for a while.

Walker, Simpson and Thornton.

Good to see Russell kick a goal.

Fev kicking 5 goals.

Kouta - was good in patches, highlights of his former brilliance
Walker - was very good, i didnt see the first half only listened to it on radio, did walker get more of a run in the midfield in the first half? or was he playing hbf like he did after half time, he stiched up medhurst in the 2nd half,
Simpson - just playing with so much confidence, cant wait till we get a good midfield to help support him

Fisher and Waite - did there moments of brilliance, but also some rubbish, just to inconsisstant, hopefully as they get match fit and a bit more experienced they will become more consistant. Just a little thing that annoys me i wish waite didnt go to ground all the time, and for those people who want him to play in the midfield i unfortunatly dont think he is a good enough kick to play in the centre sorry

also Fev great effort again

Walker on 3AW now, geez i love this kid, still only 20 and will be a jet, just shows enormous leardership potential, said he played his junior footy at CHB and also on the ball, likes playing in the backline, talked up the forward line with fisher and waite playing well,

Won the Jason Toughguy award not really to sure what it means because dont get 3aw in tassie, having a lough with the boys really just love walker

well done son

He be a prick of a match-up though in the midfield.

Both will be inconsistent because (1) they're not match fit and (2) they're on the Carlton forward line.

Walker, Bentick and Fevola very good. Carrots also okay, however some costly turnovers by all.

McGrath had another shocker. Is that the death knell for him?

Is it me or does Stevens look a little bigger (heavier) than he has been previously?

(3) They can't kick

It was lucky the free to Fev wasn't paid advantage as waite ran into an open goal from 15m out and missed

Bret Thornton and Heath Scotland...Thornton did well on Pavlich and has established himself again as our premier defender...took some nice marks and kicked the ball well..
Scotland has been better than I thought he would be this season and has taken up the slack left by a few others....wins the ball well and uses it ok...might be up in the clangars but his skill level on both sides is as good as anyones at the club and he must be well up in the B&F voting....wasnt a fan but have warmed to him in recent weeks..

I thought Carazzo and Bentick got a lot of cheap footy that got us no where..like how they win the footy but they have to get more direct and use the ball longer instead of always looking to go short and wide...
I know this is a postives thread so I'm positive we should have played Kennedy to give us another tall marking option down the corridor....both Fisher and Waite lead too wide too often...

Plaudits to Bryan and Waite for giving Fev some backup when Fev was copping some treatment after serving it up to Mundy and co down back....the lads stuck together and flew the flag and looked bonded....I think Bryan gives us something in that area....Sandilands remarked at end of game interview that French and Bryan are not a bad combo and I thought they did ok in the ruckwork today despite some awful bouncing from the umpires...

Walker was clearly our best.
Simmo was excellent.
Russell needs longer ground time - i think McGraths spot should be his.
Carrazzo was ok but make poor decisions.

- Thornton killed Pavlich in the 1on1s
- Walker embarassed Medhurst.
- Simpson runs his guts out... but I'd like him even more if he learnt how to kick on his right - even just to get out of trouble.
- Kouta had his moments.
- Fev - when they kick it in front of him, not over his freakin' head - was excellent.
- Wiggins was good. Sure he makes mistakes, but I like him. He runs hard.

But don't be fooled by Carrazzo and Bentick's posession count. I thought they were both pretty average.

I can't help but feel we may have won if this game was played at Princes' Park...

you're kidding???
the margin flattered carlton. the difference was about 6-7 goals. Fremantle won the game when it needed to be won.
Dont be fooled by last quater come backs when you're already 8 goals behind.
carlton would have lost at PP for sure. Carlton can and do lose anywhere and everywhere. u dont win 6 games in 2 seasons if yer any good

The usual Walker, Simpson, Scotland, Wiggins.

Great to see Kouta revived after the hand break. Looks imposing at times.

T-Bird is back in form the past month in a big way.

JR continues to show promise in his five minute bursts.

Fev is just consistent now, kinda boring

Carlos is injured and was flogged by Murphy, meaning Bower will be close. Good to see him gain some futher experience but needs a hell of alot of work before he becomes a regular, let alone play in our next finals team.

Jesse Smith should be promoted and replace Bannister this week.

Tekno I'm with you, Stevens needs to get fit this pre-season and lose the puppy fat that he carries. Still shirked contests today and is lazy as anyone chasing back. If he gets fit next year we will improve dramatically in the midfield.

One slightly left-of-centre positive I'm trying to hold on to through the end of Season 2006 is that we're performing without the 'benefits' of our wooden spoon in 2005. The guys that ran out for us today was pretty much a team that we ran out with last year, without the benefits of 4 (hopefully) very good to excellent players in Murph, Kennedy, Bower and Edwards.

So as we roll on & on through the punches the 'better day' we all live by & hope for should surely be getting closer. Surely?
