Interesting column in the Herald Sun today about contested possessions. When broken down by position, the forward with the highest percentage of contested possessions is Eddie Betts.

Yeh i saw that too, Eddie might not get a lot of disposals but he is one of the hardest workers and does everything he can to keep the ball in the area. More than half of his disposals are contested, awesome eddie.

Two of the best small forwards going around are two of the best defensive forwards going around, and both of them were initially overlooked in the draft.

Eddie just gets better.

I love Eddie.. Had a nice chat to him on Sat night and he is pretty happy with himself.

The next few weeks will make Eddie.. 8)

There are some very sensitive souls around here.

It's a product of how things continue to develop. I've read at least two posts in the past few days bemoaning footy talk, and one saying they would prefer to flit around TalkingFluff or some such thing.

It's quite simple. If a post appears under the TalkingCarlton category, talk Carlton. If it falls under Fluff, talk fluff. If you don't like the footy talk, find some footy talk on the web you do like.

Eddie Betts has pace, goal sense and is a superb tackler. Last weekend's game was by far one of his best. He's had a couple of blinders in recent times, and I anticipate he will only get better from here on in. What has driven him forward in his short career is his excellent pressurein the forward line.

Danyle Pearce is another handy rookie pick like Davey.

I know less of the boy, other than he is highly regarded. Is he a strong tackler like Betts and Davey?

All three a pretty short, and not the "athletic" type.

I don't know much about his tackling but he has been nominated for the Rising Star award because he's been in terrific form. He is lightning quick since Walker couldn't catch him so I think athletic would be a fair description.

Unless you call Prender athletic because he runs quickly to where the ball is nowhere to be seen!

I guess the popular theory of what makes a footballer "athletic" is if they are tall, quick, muscular, and can jump and mark.

Sounds a bit like Prenda.
