Is it just me or have our supporters turned into ferals? Fair dinkum at the last couple of games I have had the biggest idiots sitting around me bagging the hell out of the team all game and then the first ones to go nuts when we start winning again. Wish they would go back to following Richmond!

To be honest, I think that we have a large proportion of crap supporters. I was hoping that the pain of 2002-2003 would really knock that out of us, that just to win is enough for us, but no - some guys out there really think we deserve to be up top. Some disgust me, really. |

Every team has them and I agree that 2002/3 should have taught us something about being grateful for being competitive. I try to be constructive rather than having a go at them. Rather than saying 'Oh Waite you're shit, get off the ground....we're pathetic' I'm more likely to say "I wish Jarrod would work on his kicking, he'll be a gun when he does. We're not playing that well, heads just don't seem to be in it today'. Also rather than bagging Davies for missing 3 set shots, I'm thankful he's getting 4 shots on goal

More so, its when you know they are better than what they are doing. Probably a good example is Hoops at the moment. I think he is carrying an injury of sorts as he seems a little of the pace. Having said that i dont sit there and go bananas at him every time he goes for the ball. Acutally, im very positive abou the blues, probably two positive, even when we are several goals down i always think we are a chance. Must admit though, i gave us no bloody chance at all against the buumers at the 3/4 time break - glad to be proven wrong. I shall never doubt the team again. But getting back on topic - i wouldnt mind putting forward the notion that alot of the people that go off at their own supporters have never played any sort of team sports in their life. My brother in law is probably the worst - shit me, to the point where i try not to talk about footy with him, and yes, he has never played team sports before. Everyone i know gives the opposition a bake, but the few that i know that give their own team a bake, without fail have never played team sports before. |

Good to see I am not the only one that feels this way. 
Would have thought after all we had been through our supporters would have learnt a thing or two about sticking with the team. Some bloke behind me was going off at anyone who could, Waite, Davies, Fevola - all of them were useless until of course we started winning. I had to be restrained from not turning around and giving him a bake. |

I think our club's supporters are no different from other clubs, after all, we're basically all pooled from the same society. That said, I'd like to think that no Carlton supporters would laugh and cheer if Richo did his knee during a game, as I believe some Richmond supporters did to Kouta. All clubs have their ferals, some probably more so than others, but hopefully our lot are in check most of the time. |

I get a tad frustrated with some things that our players do. Especially the simple things. But then again, who doesn't? While I don't get on my soapbox and let the player in question know about it, I grumble to myself. Usually pretty positive when I go to a match. If I go to a match knowing we are going to get spanked re: Saints match last year, I look for blokes who are going to stand up and do something. Karl Norman in that particular match springs to mind. In that third quarter on Friday night, I sat there and said nothing and barely moved. Copped it something chronic from some old lady hardcore Bomber supporter in front of me. But being the supporter I am, I gave it back to her 10 fold when we won. Sounds harsh, but you should have heard some of the stuff she was saying to me. |

F@%&#! that - she gave it to you - you give it back I agree - nothing wrong with fighting back (and accepting losses), my problem is more a) swearing / abusing - you have do fight back in a clever way and b) bagging our players out loud, basically assisting opposition supporters. |

yep - i generally like to use what said idiot has said and almost say exactly the same thing but twist it to make said idiot look like, well an idiot. a simple one for buumers supporters. While i didnt hear it this game, ive heard it in the past Fev's crap, well done shit truck, etc.. etc.. i like to reply with something along the lines Fev - again, gee, dont you know your a shit truck, you arent suppose to take 15 marks - your a retard fev, 6 goals, come on Fev, stop taking the piss. |

Every club has their fair share of flower...and many supporters get white line fever just like the players. I conducted an experiment not too long ago whereby I attended a Carlton game which was close wearing a 'polar' heart rate monitor. I was able to then track my results against varying situations in the match to see what my heart rate did and when this occured. For a very fit 31 year old...the results were quite staggering and mirrored that of someone doing a very physical sparring session in the gym. My results were somewhat jaded however with umpires McLaren and McBurney officiating and therefore may not have been the norm. Wish I had of worn it on Friday night with so many ups and downs and various temperature changes such as the overcrowded bar (sauna), the gorgeous girl who I let sit next to me (only to then find out she barracked for Essendon*), the abuse levelled at wannabe gangsta Ty Zantuck must have pushed the pulse rate to the extreme as no doubt would have the pulsating last quarter comeback which released numerous endorpins into the blood stream. happy & safe barracking blues fans! i the first game i yelled out MCKERNAN!!! every time diggers or teague took a mark, to shut some roos supporters up. it work to a point, they stopped bagging us anyway. but owell. winners are grinners. |

I still remember this feral thing looking over at us everytime they kicked a goal...if I'd been close enough I'd have told her to celebrate the goal rather than looking to see what we were doing......how sweet it was to give it back to them after the game
