Post subject: | True Blue Commitment from The Age |
I've just received a letter in the mail from Andrew Walker. All members should be receiving one soon. In it is an offer to receive home delivery of The Age on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (the footy days) for six months for the grand total of $15 (14.5 cents per paper). That's over $150 for $15!!! (screams in voice of the surprise spruiker) This adminsitration has been bashed around the head (rightly) many times for it's lack of marketing and promotional ability but this offer is a beauty. I don't know whether the initiative started with the club or the paper and perhaps it's an offer available to other clubs as well but the best part is that of the $15 fee The Age will donate $7.50 directly to the Carlton Football Club. Congrats to all involved. If only I wasn't already receiving The Age home delivery... ![]() |

Cancel your existing home delivery, then take up this offer. This is actually a scam by The Age to up their circulation so they can demand higher prices from advertisers. Papers use these sort of tricks all the time by giving free papers out at hotels, airports, sporting events, etc. Doesn't mean it's not a great deal for you or the club though. |

Its part of the Age sponsorhip deal. I think most clubs sponsored by the Age.. and half are sponsored by the Age and half by the Hun will get this offfer. Basically it gets you used to reading it so after the 6 months is gone you might renew. great marketing. The problem is we dont get much good news... hard to subscribe. But c0ome draft day it will be worth it. ![]() |

Im pretty sure it is.. unless were the only club in the league to not have it... and its not like were in a position to not take the sponsorship... I think we were all huff n puff back then because of the circumstances. There is one peron on this site that would know for sure. But of you really think about it. Say the Age sponsor 5 victorian clubs.. and give that offer to all the members from those clubs for 6 months... they will get a percentage of people that will stay subscribed. Pretty good long term plan. After all the Age is much better for footy. |

Its not really a scam George becuase Im sure they have other ways of artificially bumping up their circualation figures, all print media do. Given the quality of Auditors sent to review and approve circulation figures offering a good deal to readers to bump up figures is definately the hard way of doing things ![]() |

I bet the club make a mistake like not mailing everyone the offer - I have found lately that I get some mail and not others. |

Does this mean CK's a closet 'Aints supporter, and is really a spy on TC? Is CK a troll? Shock! Horror! |

Nah my girlfriend's a St Kilda supporter. And let me tell you, with a Nick Reiwoldt poster on the bedroom wall you never really have to 'think of England' |

Just signed up via Mrs Cs link (thank you!). I can't remember the last time I received anything from the club so I'd rather get in quick before they ... uh ... run out of ... you know ... papers ... maybe |

Did it actually get in your letterbox or miss by about 5 metres?? Sorry couldn't resist. Signed up on the offer over the phone before - the club could make some money out of this if they are getting $7.50 each - maybe 5,000 people take up the offer = $37,500 - I hope they learn from this and approach other companies for similar deals. |

https://subscribe.fairfax.com.au/cgi-bi ... =CFC:flyer Great offer! Although The Age might want to reword their ad on the site, they start off with saying for $15 you can have the papers delivered every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday FOR A WHOLE YEAR They then say for $15 you can get the paper on those days for 26 WEEKS. If their reference to a whole year is a football year, they should probably clarify that clearly otherwise it could be construed otherwise |

The link on The Age didn't say anything about $7.50 going to the club... muzza, I'd call and ask if it applies to interstate members. |
