Blackwell should have been named already. Had he played for anyone else he would have. I am pleased with how his game is progressing. There may not be much of him, but he takes no sh*t and he is better than most of our guys at hitting targets. |

If he does get it, it will be based on a consistent performance. He has been very good since the Brisbane game and was unlucky to have Stiller play well in the same game. |

Grundy would have to be a chance as well. |

grundy will win it easy this round but i think there's one just around the corner for blackers if he keeps sticking at it he has been far more consistent than players who have won it in the last couple of months. |

The whole NAB Rising Star nomination method is flawed to an extent. The competition itself is won by the most consistent performer during the year, yet the nominations are most often based on the player that is most brilliant for that particular week. Blackwell, and Kennedy would have been considered several times already during the year, but just not THE best for the week, so they continually miss out. |

I don't rate the NRS. I'd rather our players not win the thing to be honest. All it does is alert the opposition to someone who might otherwise sneak up and bite 'em on the arse. |

Look, I hope he does get the nod, whether it be this round or at some stage before the end of the year. But, if he doesn't, who cares? I certainly won't think less of him and his performances, and I would imagine neither would most, if not all of you. We don't need Blackers to be nominated for the NRS award to know that he has been very very good for us this year, and that he certainly has a big future with the Carlton footy club. |

Karl Norman Trent Sporn Blake Campbell...etc etc AND Luke's not in this league....he'll be performing week in week out, not only if he gets a favourable matchup...(licks lips) |

I think it's an okay competition and good players usually win. But some guy called Judd didn't win it and a few people rate him. They do often give it for consistency if there's no stand out that week. Fact is we have this years NRS, but he may not get it because of injury |

Are you serious! Spoken like a true supporter of a club who's never won a rising star. Yeah, I'd hate to have Buckley, Cousins, Goodes, Riewoldt, Kosi, Mitchell, Delideo, etc etc in our team. |

I find it a joke that Eddie Betts never recieved a nomination, despite kicking 20 goals in his first senior year! ![]() And chances are, somebody like Raines or Polo or even Dale Thomas will win it this year DESPITE Murphy clearly being the most talented youngster of the season and having one of the best debut's seasons ever! (I know he can still win it, i just can't see it happening) |

(I know he can still win it, i just can't see it happening) i heard gerard healy (one of the selectors) say that they're only going to judge murphy on what his shown but if another player has a better 2nd half than murph's 1st half (even though everyone knows murph would have had a better 2nd half had he not been injured) would be a disadvantage to murph. i cant see murph winning it with KB on the panel of selectors what he did last year was nothing short of disgraceful when he gave deledio 5 votes and gave griffin none knowing griffin was deledio's biggest threat. expect the same thing to happen this year he'll give raines 5 votes, polo 4 votes, marc murphy wont even feature and no one can criticise him because he's got a good enough excuse in that murph only played 12 games. |
