Setantas continued improvement.

Simmo's consistancy of continued performance.

Tbird loves playing at the G I reckon.

Eddie Betts performing and coming up with the goods under real pressure.

The skipper turned back the clock a couple of times. :)

FEVOLAAAAA!!!!!!!!

That pretty much covers it. I like the look of Blackwell though. He has dancing feet.

Not playing Lappin ahead of Russell and Jordan will be all the better for it after playing in a game like that.

I thought Thornton was numero uno today he did well I hope he can go on with it.

I really hope Fev's finger holds up so he can take a Coleman.

AFL was the winner today. A magnificent game to watch and alot of good kids on both sides to establish the next generation of blockbusters between the Blues and Bombers.

Setanta's game. Makes mistakes, but is not afraid to keep attacking aggressively. The boys actually gave the ball off to him a few times today (unlike last week), good to see.

T-bird's game was excellent.

AB and Little Blackers. Not a bad team. 8)

Houla did a good job on Campo.

agree with everything from the opening post. o'hAilpin played very well, made a couple mistakes (to be expected, and should be tolerated) but also had the courage to back himself several times, won key one-on-ones...great to see. really really chuffed with his effort today

fevola...battled well all day, i didnt think he had a great day, but he still kicked 5, a good effort.

good to see waite back, i really like jarrad...he'll be much better for the run.

bryan. actually played well. did his job, i reckon he certainly did enough to hold his position.

JR, excellent to see him in the side...i reckon wiggy has probably done enough for a spot on the list next year, so its worth giving JR his shot. did a couple good things (his dash out of defence in the 2nd 1/4 thro heavy traffic to hit a man on the chest was great to see.

thornton. killed lucas. nuff said

simmo and blackers, continue to improve, continue to back themselves. great to see.

not so much a positive, but when walker was actually on the ball and not tagging someone he did a couple nice things...hopefully we can see him in the thick of it more often

scotland again was solid.

Last few weeks we've fallen away in final quarters and it was looking that way again early but this week they fought back when all look lost. We're still 4 points ahead of them on the ladder and on track to avoid the spoon.

we fall away in the last 1/4 because of the fact we play a 1/4 of football before the game even starts! our warm up is absurd...shouldnt be out on the ground running about for that long...i know its to hit the ground running, but at the expense of our fade outs it should be stopped.

we didnt really fade out as badly as previous weeks tho.

Great game from Thornton.

Bentick and Blackwell worked well together in the middle.

Thought Simmo was great again (if only he'd converted a few more times)

Fish and Waite are still both under done but it's good to see them back in the side.

Carlos made a few mistakes but he tries his guts out and made some great tackles, forced turnovers etc. Superb smother in the third quater.

Simmo very good again and a freak goal just like Kouta.

Thornton was immense. Excellent game from him, he was everywhere.

Bryan must stay in the side as he offers more than French and McLaren certainly at the moment.

Fev naturally.

Houlihan's disposal into the forward 50, was one guy who could actually hit a lead lace out more than a few times and didn't kick the cover off the ball, just sat it up nicely.

And Andrew Walkers spoil with about 10 seconds to go that saved Waite's and Carlton's ass. He came from nowhere to spoil that one and basically threw himself at it like he was hell bent on not letting the Dons player mark. Had no right to get there really but he did, well done.

where Campo went round the back to get a cheap possession -every Carlton player and supporter knew he was going to do it ! holding the ball campo
Setanta made a few clangers but after today you will see him make it
Blackwell should be NAB rising star nomination surely
Enjoyed bentick on Johnson
Scotland continues to lead from the front and is having a great season
Good confidence boster for Eddie today
Thorton magnifique
Got away with playing 3 players underdone - kouta fisher and waite - lucky ! -kouta was pretty good
Simpson continues to run the lines
Nice goal from Banno in the last
Hollywood Fevola one of the games elite
Bryan did ok and must play next week

yeah for our luck davey will go and kick a ball out of mid-air from the boundary line 60m out and it'll bounce a million times and go in, but both goals were fantastic and one of them has to AT LEAST get goal of the week, i thought simmo's was marginally better.

other positives were:

fev was able to kick 5 goals with a broken/dislocated finger :? and tighten his grip on the coleman

eddie betts played his best ever game for carlton (see talkingplayers)

as did setanta o'hailpin (spewing he couldnt kick the saving goal for us at the end)

simmo's and tex's continued improvement

no injuries

and the biggest positive would have to be when a draw is as good as a win as it keeps us a game clear of Essendon* and less chance of gaining our 3rd spoon in 5 years.

Thornton- After last weeks clangerfest he had a timely performance to prove why we've always rated him so highly
Walker- While not getting as much possession as some of his previous games it would have to close to being one of his most impressive games. His evasion in traffic was beautiful and his disposal of the ball was very good from memory.
Simpson- A star. We need to find a way to get the ball to him more often
Fevola- Lucas kicks 6 goals and he's had a great game. Fevola kicks 5 with a dodgey finger, and a sore knee, and he's just played to expectations.
Blackwell- He's going to be an incredible inside midfielder once he's got his body right
