I think Matt will find he was a member of Carlton's 1997 Premiership Ansett Cup side.

Terrific footballer. A real bonus to CFC in 95.

That 95 Half Forward line of Clape, The Duke and Ricey has to be one of the most fearless HF lines from all the CFC premiership teams. Each man would run through brick walls to get to the footy without a 2nd thought.

Thinking back,i reckon Brad Fisher is a similar type.Deceptively tall, and very strong overhead, and no slouch when the ball hit the deck.

Brad Fisher also reminds me of Richard Dennis

Richard Dennis had some similarities to Matt Clape I reckon.

i can see longmuir in a clape type roles over the next few years. i think he will be a more than handy pick up for us.

Good player was Matt Clape and as Mick said was very strong overhead and no mug on the ground either and was a very polished player.
Richard Dennis was a terrific mark for his inches but not as gifted as Clape with his other skills...his kicking for goal often let him down.
I think Longmuir may provide some depth and injury cover for our forwards but I think will have a tough time keeping a spot especially when Fisher is fit and Waite is settled. I think he may have more value as a lure to get brother Justin into a Navy Blue gurnsey...

I think fisher is a better mark than clape? - I dont recall clape being one for the packs but more a leading flanker. Never saw richard dennis.

i'm with chicken - packbuster? clape was a lovely kick and useful player who knew where the ball was going, but in a lesser team wouldn't have had an impact. useful, nice, floppy hair.
