Be good to have someone in the team with Percy Jones type enthusiasm. I'd just love to see more obvious encouragement out on the ground. There was a bit here and there, particularly when Barney handballed to Minson, when teamates did come in to try and lift him, but we need a few extroverts. Fev's the only one, and he's not great at running down the ground to acknowledge great efforts.

After the game it was good to see both Chris Grant and Will Minson take time to have a chat to Setanta.

I really hope our dull, dour coaching panel are good at encouraging the players because they don't seem to be great at it themselves. Comes from losing a lot I guess.

You may be joking Jerry, but you are bloody spot on.We are definately in need of a couple of cowboys around the place.Getting blokes together, even for the wrong reasons,is a must in a footy club.Cameradie is a far greater weapon amongst the troops than a lot would believe.Couple of yahoos in the lockeroom does wonders for morale.

Michael Gardiner might be a candidate for this role

I get the feeling that Daniher is very good at building camaderie amongst the players at the club. Scotland always seems to try and encourgae the players around him. Also as some of the youngsters get more settled in the team their exuberance and enthusiasm will start to come out more.

No not joking Mick, i think a few extroverts who are quick to encourage and show enthusiasm really helps, specially with a team of young guys who look mortified when they make mistakes and need to be geed up. I think all our older players except Fev are introverts. You can't create exuberance unfortunately, but all the players need to be encouraged to really support teamates when thye do good things.

I'm happy to take on the Percy role.

I'm prepared to lead the 10K run on a tram if that will help.

They all love Denis.

Maybe he can run his stand up comedy routine past the players before each game.

Good post.
Diggers was great at fulfilling this role and I was therefore surprised to see him flicked last year.
He was a battler on the field but many of our retained players are as well.
I dont believe his ability to bond the playing group and add a light hearted perspective was valued as much as it should have been.

I've heard Harts is a bit extroverted? And 10 Questions seem to suggest the Wiggler may be the man at the moment and that his presence in the senior team certainly seems to have helped
