I must say, I believe in him because so many here on TC go into raptures over him and never understand when he doesn't get a guernsey.

However, again on Friday night he demonstarted little ability to win a contested ball. I didn't see him do anything special in the wiz cup either.

Many of you see him on the track and in the VFL, i know he looks like a footballer......but in which position is he going to to learn his craft? e.g Carrozzo, is being given a great apprenticeship in the BP (full credit to carrots as well becuase he winning the ball).

Maybe he is a long, long term project player. But when and where do you give him a chnace when we need to win games and the ability to win a contested ball is critical to our game plan?

I am a big fan of Simmo's and I reckon he could, like Carrots, learn his craft in the backline.
But in saying that, how do you fit him in the backline when we have other small blokes like Lappin, Houlihan, Teague, McGrath, Wiggins, Sporn, Carrazzo etc playing there?

I liked what Isaw of him in the Wizzer when he played in the forward line.
Perhaps he could find his niche in the side by playing off of a half forward flank.

I think he'll be a good replacement for Campo.....might take a few years though.

I agree with London Blue about Simmo winning contested ball. Could have had a career moment in the 3rd qtr on Friday night when a clean gather would have put him beyond 2 bombers on his favoured left foot running into goal.

Has a few good attributes - if only we could combine his kicking with Davies overhead skills.

He needs some bloody time out on the ground.

How can he work his way into the pace and pressure of senior footy if he is only getting a couple of minutes here and there?

He looked okay at times in the Dogs Wizzer Cup game, esp at the start. But, like london, I keep waiting for him to shine based on the glowing reports of more learned footballing scholars than myself.

As Ponky said.....Hard to get a possession getting splinters.

Jarusa is there anywhere on the net that has the player stats along with their game time. :?:

Agree with effes...will be a good replacement for Campo...still learning the game and needs experience. He has the pace and skills to be a valuable player and is worth persisting with..

Have to agree with Ponkstar and Cazz, he needs game time. He may not make it, but at least give him a chance. He's like Fev in his first few seasons where they sat him on the bench for half a game, bought him on and when he missed the first goal, straight off. If you are going to find out if he will make it he must be given full games for a few weeks in a row. So that if he misses or mucks up the first time, he knows he won't be dragged and will get a chance to come good.

Agree in general with many of the posts. Simmo is a talented player and should make it for us, and yes, he does need more game time so he can gain the confidence he needs at senior level. The problem on Friday night was that the team were struggling big time, and Simmo struggled on the few occasions he was out there, so he got dragged. You can afford to 'carry' players a little more, and give them valuable game time when the team as a whole is on top and playing well. But when there's a game to be won still, it's a bit harder. I can understand why Pagan kept him off the ground on Friday night.

He is begging to loose me.
He has to do it this year, if not other guys will overtake him.

Absolutely dominates At VFL level, cannot get a kick at AFL level.
I don't know what is is, maybe he should see a sports psychologist ?

How many times do you have to be told GAME TIME!
Would love to see him start a game and atleast givin a 1/4. Agree he's a future replacement for Campo.

Geesh, 19 minutes on the ground for 2 handballs and we're doubting again. The kid needs time, and not in a game where - like the period of time he was on - we are failing to man up and playing pretty lazy footy. Don't doubt his ability, just his ability get game time.

To me though this is the key. Pagan must see him as a fill-in at the moment so Kade is going to have to do something very special to get more time.
