During the first 1/4 "The Worlds Fittest Man' (thanks BT) was instrumental in our gaining the break we had, his run from deep on the opposition wing to half forward for that 55m goal was sublime and had me in raptures. In fact Lance was so dangerous that Sheeds had to double team him. During the 2nd and 3rd when he was being held 'TWFM' worked hard and when able to break free provided valuable linkage into the forward line.

However it was in the last "TWFM' really showed the qualities that had him slated as a future Capt and when his fitness showed through. Lance constantly organised the forward line giving direction and enouragment. particularly to the Shag, the junior players looked to Lance for leadership and he gave it. Lances started to take the contested pack mark with the one in the goal square telling and his ruckwork was able to release other talls to provide cover across half forward.

Lance in conjunction with Kouta lifted the team and showed how to do it right when it was needed. Have an extra protein shake this morning 'TWFM' you have earned it.

Well said BM - Lance's work-rate and leadership was great last night. Nice to see him finish running all over the slow bombers. :D

Lance clutching the Sherrin to his breast in the goal square while no less than five Bombers surrounded him looking at each other accusingly was a highlight of his game.

That mark reminded me of Kouta's in the square in the last quarter of the '99 Premilinary against the very same team.

The difference with Lance's fitness is he can now get his leg moving fast enough and high enough to be able to attempt those over the head snaps for goal which we saw last night.

Hate to mention "footy smarts" in a Lance thread but when Deluca had Lovett Murray in the pocket. Lance looked up saw the mismatch and ran to 1/2 forward to give Deluca room to isolate.

He always had the talent, but not the body. He's certainly rectified that problem, and its all credit to him.

Keep this up, and he will be my pick of captain over Stevens.

I've been on the side of having Lnace as our next Captain before, during, and after the Dark Time. So pleased to see him showing the talent and drive that I knew was there.

Go Whits!

Remember how we loved this guy a few years ago - well he's back to what he was back then - he is Lance '99

Flavour's on the month....Lance and Eddie...both deserve it.

I love seeing Lance being the footballer he's capable of being. Reminded me last night of a 17 year old Whitnall telling players 10yrs his senior where to stand...and having them listen to him.

Easily the msartest footballer in the league and now able to show it.

He dominated.

A special hello to all the people who were disappointed we didn't end up trading him for pick 17 :P

My favourite thing about Friday nights Lance Show?

He kicked 4.4 on Sir James Hird. Good move Sheeds. That worked.
