Some people may think it's a bit of a stretch, but I think the club owes Livo a crack up forward before he (quite possibly) gets consigned to the scrap heap at the end of the year.

I'm sure when he was running around as the U/18 All Australian CHF he never dreamed he'd end up being drafted to a club that would sit him at Full Back every week.

No doubt he'll start down back this week, but if things go bad for him down there, I'd much rather see him thrown forward for a half than benched and dropped back to the Bullants the next week.

Better yet, given that Waite and Fisher are out and Lance is in good form at CHB, it would be great (and logical) to give Livo a full game or two at CHF.

Pagan may lament that there's no hidden superstars at our club, but he won't unearth any by trying the same old thing week in, week out and not exploring every avenue with all our players.

Couldn't hurt......

It's not like we're going into matches with settled stable lineups, forward or back, and with Waite and Fish out, it may help Fev.

I'd love this to occur. My main problem with Poagan is that he does not try a lot of new things. Its steady as she goes stuff week after week. Means he probably gets the side he wants and they perform to a strong level week after week but I think there must be a lot opf casualties along the way.

In fact this is my main gripe with football as buisness. It seems to me a lot of players make a lot of money on the dead dreams of a lot of kids killed because of a system that rewards well and slays fast.

If he plays forward he must kick goals. Have any of you people seen him kick?

Well he was drafted as a forward wasnt he? Maybe his goal kicking is better than his field kicking, they're hard to compare..especially in the frantic Carlton defence

So you are saying there is less pressure in kicking goals for our team. We usually have very limited scoring opportunities every one counts!

Different sort of pressure though...the pressure he gets in defence is that he may be run down at any second etc. I always got the impression mental strength isn't his weak point. He may be a bad kick for goal, he may not. Why don't we find out, there's little to lose

Give him a shot I say.
For no other reason than he reminds me of Chris Grant, they've got the same [sort of] shaped head.

You could try him there but I dont see him getting a game ahead of Fev, Kennedy, Waite, Fisher and co..I
I see him as a FB and we should be playing him there every week....learning the trade,on the best FF's..

What have we got to lose by giving him a go up forward? This is more than likely his last chance in AFL and we know what he is like down back ( Competent at best )

The only decent game I have ever seen Livo play was against Sydney in at Telstra Stadium in Sydney when he was put at CHF (through necessity) I think it was 2004, he took a few pack busting marks and really made a mark - unfortunately it was his kicking for goal that let him down.

But best most confident I have ever seen him in a Carlton jumper - whether that attitude has been beaten out of him only time will tell.

I would have thought keeping Neitz goalless or to 1 goal on 3 or 4 occasions would be considered decent.

If memory serves correctly Livo did get some game time back in 2002 as a forward. he made good position but kept dropping marks :(
I reckon it's a good idea to try him again, he is a better player now. Remember that we have Prendergast in too, he seems to be doing well in the Bullants up forward.

He can't be a worse set shot for goal than Wiggins so give him a go I say.

He can't kick so I agree, he belongs on our forward line.

It just goes to show how much we have fallen. In the good old days we used to move our failed forwards to the backline. Now we talk about moving our failed backs to the forward line.

Keep him in the back line please. If Livo has any future at Carlton it is in the backline. We dont need more forwards although there are a couple of injuries he isn't better then fisher and waite.

Let him settle into the backline for at least six weeks and see how he goes. Playing in the forward line is a waste of time he will only get in fevola's way.
